Open Question

I have a Selectronic Redring shower and it is keeps reverting back to temperature setting 1 (of 9). I can change the temperature suing the controls but it always goes straight back to 1. Although I have hot water in my flat there is none coming out of the shower. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: Triton Electric Shower Temperature too hot

You could have mineral deposits on the temperature probe inside of the unit. If you remove the heater and purchase a bottle of lime and scale remover (lime away) to put inside of it. Let the unit sit full of water and chemicals for 24 hours. Flush out the unit to remove any residue. You may see the water is brown if you have a lot of buildup. Reconnect unit and test your settings. If this doesn't work, install a anti-scalding device, available at a plumbing supply store.

SOURCE: Redring 3205 wont turn to cold - when control

Take a look at the .pdf document on their site. There will be adjustments within the unit that will assist you in adjusting the tempature. They advise that there could be seasonal adjustments that would need to be completed. I've assumed your model is the Activa 320S as I could not find a redring 3205. Good Luck.

There are some troubleshooting actions mentioned on page 6 and 7 of the manual at this site

http://www.aroundtownflats.com/manuals/Shower%20Manuals/Redring/New%20Selectronic%20Instructions.pdf

The shower is designed to turn off within 30 secs if there is no water flowing through. The issue is why does water flow stop.
It can happen if shower is in overheat shutdown. Need to find if temperature setting is too high. There is a purge sequence to overcome this. See manual.

Raise temp above 120

Raising temperature above 120 degrees requires service call.
Or change dip switch settings and risk voiding warranty and causing service call expense.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html#temperature

Earliest versions of Rheem tankless 2006-8 let you set temperature up to 140 degrees F using remote.
However the hotter setting caused error codes because the burner cannot keep up with both high temperature and large volume of hot water rushing through pipe. Especially in winter with cooler incoming water that must be heated more to reach temperature set point.
The burner simply cannot keep up.
So Rheem changed maximum temperature at remote control to tepid 120 degrees, which is not hot enough for folks wanting hot shower, or folks filling whirlpool tub because water in tub cools before tub fills.
