Cub Cadet 2135 Weak Ignition Module?

I have a Cub Cadet 2135. It will not fire. It's getting fuel and I pulled the plug and the spark looks weak when I crank the engine and ground the plug. Any Ideas?

The spark should be a crisp blue colour and should be able to jump at least a 6 mm gap. A couple of things you can try is 1: dissconect the stop wire and check spark,if still no good 2: remove the coil and clean up all the earths with a fine file, The magneto air gap should be 10 thou clearence. If none of these work then you will need a new ignition module.

SOURCE: My Cub Cadet 2135 PTO won't engage.

i had the same thing happen
found that the on/off switch had come unplugged from the wire harness just below the switch
had to attach the wires to something underneath so the weight did not pull the wires down and taped the two switches together to prevent it from pulling apart
it needs some kind of clip to hold them together
hope that this works for you

SOURCE: I have a Cub Cadet 2135 and when I turn the key

possibly a bad starter, check and see if you can turn the engine by hand after you remove the spark plugs( dont want it to accidently start). if it does try a straight cable+ side to the starter terminal. if it turns then you may have a bad solenoid.

remove the starter...use jumper cables to "run the starter to big lug, black to body (anywhere is fine) should torque hard at initial run and continue to run smooth...if it buzzes or vibrates, it's bad...replace...

I have a 2002 pt cruiser it is getting gas and fire but the fire is weak

Weak spark could be bad coil(s) or ignition module. Even a bad groud strap can cause this, but most common is module.

Weak firing on 883 sporster

Hi Anonymous, and the usual suspects are:
1. Plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition or leaking.
3. Spark plug gap to close or to wide.
4. Faulty ignition coil, module and or sensor.
5. Battery nearly discarged.
6. Damaged wire or loose connections at battery terminals especially the ground cable at BOTH ends, ignition coil, or plug between ignition sensor and module.
7. Intermittent short circuit due to damaged wire insulation.
8. If your bike has a CKP sensor you must leave both plugs in
head and check for spark with a 3rd plug. Good luck.

Saw feels like it,s out of timing, pull rope hard to pull with plug in.. pulls easy plug out maybe trying to fire to fast

Check the air cleaner for plugging. Remove the spark plug, open the throttle with the choke off, turn the machine upside down and pull it through smartly several times until the excess fuel is expelled. Dry the spark plug interior insulator and test for spark--it should be blue and snappy (plug gapped 0.020"). If weak looking, try a new plug first, and if still weak, remove the left engine case to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Turn the flywheel magnets under the module poles, insert a thin business card into the gaps, loosen the module screws to allow the module to contact the magnets. Tighten the screws and turn the flywheel somewhat to release the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the module gap doesn't close up at any point. Reassemble and test again for spark. If now good, try for engine start. Hope this helps!

Saw won't start

Remove the spark plug and check for a snappy, blue spark. If nothing or very weak, try another plug. If still nothing, remove the switch wire from the ignition module. If still nothing, replace the ignition module. Use a thin business card to set the gap and have the magnets under the module poles. You should have spark at this point. If still won't fire, but has spark, try spraying some starting fluid into the plug hole, install the plug, and try to start. If you get a couple of pops, then check the fuel lines, fuel filter, and make sure the screws are tight on the carburetor. If still won't run, you may need to clean and re-kit the carburetor. Make sure the air cleaner and muffler are not plugged. Hope some of this helps!

1997 Chevrolet 1500 no start

is the fuel spraying into the cylinders? pull a plug and see if they have fuel on them.....If not you have a problem at the injectors if there is pressure on the rails. If fuel is present you aren't firing strong enough to ignite the fuel. pull a plug and put the wire on it and touch it to a ground and check to see if it is a good blue spark or a weak white or yellow spark...If no spark check for dead plugs or distributor module,

these mowers are riddled with safety switches. i would lean toward one of them malfunctioning. is the battery charged up? a weak battery will not engage the electro magnet.
