This is definitely a timing problem.
Simply, it is either, too far advanced, or too far retarded.
The first thing I would check, would be the plug.
Clean it up if it's in need, and just check the gap.
If it's too tight, or too far open, that could explain it.
Otherwise, it will be the spacing on the magneto. Either open the gap, or close the it.
I hope that's cleared it up for you,
Good luck with that.

My cub cadet 221 cranks won't start

Clean your carb, if you have not stored it correctly you have a dirty carb now. Carb could be gummed up.

I have a cub cadet 2000 series model 2146. When I turn the key the motor spins but doesn't start. When I take the air filter off I see gas spit out when I choke it.

You could have one or more of several problems. With the gas scenario you mention, you're getting gas INTO the carburetor. But the carb could be grungy and in need of cleaning (90 percent of mower problems in my experience). My question is this: is the thing "Firing"? like do you hear it kick in like it wants to start. If not, then it may not be getting any spark. Take the spark plug out and buy a new one for about $3 (match the numbers up on the side of the plug ceramic). It never hurts to replace it anyway. With the info you have provided here, that is all I can give you right now, but hope it helps. Good Luck.

I have a cub cadet that wont stay running.

Is the gas more than 5 months old? If so drain the old gas and replace with fresh gas.
If that does not fix it try replacing the fuel filter.
If that doesnt fix it try cleaning and re-gapping the spark plug or replace the spark plug. If none of these easy fixes do it then it could be a dirty carb.

I have a cub cadet 1500 series and it wont start i changed the fuel lines feul filter spark plug i can pour gas in the carb and it will fire but there is gas getting to the carb it just wont start

Check and see if it has an anti-backfire solenoid in the front of the carb.If it does and the solenoid has power then you need to replace it.

2160 cub cadet that wont spark to the plugs

You've solved for some of the equation. Spark. Fuel. Air.....all in the proper sequence. Now, what condition are the plugs ? I'd change them out if they have any wetness to them. Check your fuses as well. Another thing is the 'safety switches' - located in seat, on parking brake, etc. One of these could have come undone or gone bad/loose wire. I'm thinking the latter....
