Question about Hoover U6616-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum
It appears that the circular piece, (which has the belts on it) that is on the shaft does not stay tight as it should against the unit. I believe there is suppose to be a nut holding it tight, which fell out of the cleaner when I took the bottom piece off. Thus the belts do not stay tight in position as they should. I can't seperate the top cover from the internal parts so I can put the nut back on and tighten it in place. It seems like there has to be an easy way to do this, but I am just missing it.
Thanks in advance afo any help you may be able to give me with this.
In order to seperate the hood from the agitator housing you will need to remove the screws for the bottom plate (4) remove the plate. next you will see (2) screws. one will be by the belt side the other is on the other side by the sucktion inlet. once the screws are off, take a flat head screwdriver and push the tabs (2)on either side of the plastic where the hood meets the agitator housing. once you do this the hood should release itself. hope this helps
