Question about HTC Touch Pro Smartphone
Did you attempt to unlock or jailbreak it? If this was an official apple update then which version did you attempt to update to?
The easiest fix you can try is to restore your phone phone to it's defaults. To do this you will need to have iTunes opened with the phone connect to the computer via UPS cable. With the iPhone off BUT connect to the cable you want to press the power button and immediately hold down the home button then release power button. You will need to keep holding the home button until a picture of the iPhone sync cable appears and iTunes detects the device. This process boots your phone into restore mode.
Once iTunes detects the device it will ask you if you want to restore it. Tell it to restore the phone and wait for it to finish the process then restart the phone by itself. This will wipe the phone to the point it was when you just bought it from the store. After everything is complete you will be able to sync back all your data from iTunes assuming you had a backup and have synced with iTunes before.
On the off chance you had a software unlocked phone before and ran the 3.0 or 3.1 apple firmware update it will undo your unlock and cause your SIM to read invalid if it is not an AT&T SIM. If you updated to 3.0 it is fixable by applying the unlock again. If you have upgraded to 3.1 then there is no current fix at the moment I am afraid.
