just to be clear...there is no high pitched squeal and this is a tube TV. Also, I could not find any reference or parts listing for color wheels. Would you be able to provide a part number and source to purchase from?

The color wheel has gone out on this tv and needs to be replaced. Usually the color wheel has a high pitched squeal with it when it stops working. You should be able to get a replacement from Mitsubishi. Let me know how this turns out.

Sorry, I was assuming it was a projection tv according to the category you had it listed under which is why I said it would be a color wheel. In this tv there will be a color tube which itself is a big vacuum tube. Very dangerous if you break it so be careful if you choose to replace it yourself. Since this is an older model tv, I would recommend not replacing it, you would be better off to getting a new LCD tv.

What I am trying to hook up is a Wii console using component cable but get black and white image on a Mitsubishi WS-65313 65 inch Television?

Follow the color code green for green, red for red, blue for blue, ignore the yellow wire, also be aware that there is an audio cable that is red also that wire goes into the Right channel audio and the white wire goes to the Left channel audio

Trying to hook up a Philips 22'' TV to Sony CD/DVD player. Need help. I have a Red, White. and Black connector to go from TV to CD Player. Do I need anytning else? TV model # 22PFL3504D/F7

Usually the Color Red and White is for the audio channels and yellow is for the video but in your case you find black instead of yellow.

So you do the connection as per the instruction given below.

TV DVD Player
Red--------------Red
White------------White
Black-------------Yellow

Mitsubishi HD 50" rear projection tv is only showing picture in black and white. What is the problem?

Is sounds like to need to go to SETUP and set the unit to color. Also, weak signals will cause the unit to switch to B/W. Try using OTHER inputs (like DVD) to see if you still have no color. If no color, it could just be a SETUP problem...or..(ugh!) you have lost your color wheel or related circutry. (no easy fix)

Need instrutions for this model.

Hi,
Please hook your dvd player and tv as follows...
Find Yellow color pin as Video Out, Red and White pins for Audio Out (right and left channels) and same goes to rear input-1 or input-2 what ever is available in your TV. watch out color of pins, same color in both units should be hooked up.
Now play dvd player and select input in tv and enjoy.
Still needs help, please mention model and brand of DVD Player and TV to guide you in better way.

Color to black and white and back again

Since you're using a composite cable (yellow RCA) that carries both luma (brightness) and chroma (color) information, it's not the cable that is the problem.

That means it's either the DVD player itself, or the TV. If you have another video device (VCR, etc) that you can connect to the TV, try that. If the other device also goes from color to black and white, then it's your TV. Otherwise the problem is your DVD player.

Since your TV only has mono audio (white RCA, but no red) I would recommend getting a new TV if the TV is to blame.
