I have a Vizio, and I don't recall having to do anything to get it to display incoming calls. Of course, you know that you must, through your cable company, have access to caller ID function.

The service is not part of the TV, but with your IP telephony service. Check your phone service provider, sometimes it has to be turned on from your cable TV settings.

Next time you have an incoming call:
-Leave the handset down (do not answer the call).
-Press the 'transfer' button to scroll through the different displays until the caller ID is shown.
-Lift the handset to answer the call.
-The next time you have an incoming call it should show the caller ID.

First you need to verify if the caller id does that to all incoming calls, showing numbers only, or if it only does that to only numbers stored in directory. If it does that to all incoming calls then you need to check manual to see if there a setting to allow both name and number of all incoming calls. Either way you need to make sure caller id functions allows both name /number on display.
