Xerox computer monitor light keeps flashing

I am having the same problem with my monitor. It's about 5 years old, and when I first turn on the computer I can hear it load up, but the monitor won't turn on. The green light keeps flashing and I have checked the power cords and the external power supply. About an hour or 2 later all of a sudden the green light is on and the monitor comes on. I am assuming that the internal power supply is going? I guess it's just as easy to go buy a new monitor then to bring this one in for repair? Anyone have any idea on what is going on with the Xerox Computer Monitor. ?
