I got this a couple of months ago, and tried to use the espresso maker tonight for the first time. I filled the water tank, made sure it was pressed down firmly, and attached the empty filters for the first run through as instructed in the booklet. The machine is rather loud, and no water ever came out. I even tried using the frothing nozzle, but nothing came out of there either. Any ideas what's wrong? The coffee side of the machine works fine.
I have a 4020 and have a similiar problem, water flows without ground coffee, but once coffee is tapped to the filter, it can't make coffee..

You have to push down the water basket in the back, unless you press it down it will not work. I bought one of these machines and I am working on my third replacement in less than a year. Krups has possibly the worst brand on the market. Lots of room for improvement. Yours will break in a month or two so you should probably return it now. FYI - their customer service is 100% automated. Don't expect to speak with someone. -Tim

I have exactly the same problem with my Krups 936, which I was given 2nd hand. I am wondering if it is a problem with limescale.
