You have a short. Did you replace the x-clamp? If you did then the heat sink is touching something

When i try to turn on system red light goes off and nothing happens...i then have to unplug then red light comes on again but when i try to turn on again same thing happens

I had this issue as well. I noticed that there was a sound each time that I tried to turn on the system after plugging it in. The sound seemed to be coming from the disc tray, so I opened the casing and unscrewed the disc tray as well. I fiddled with it until I could get the long lost DVD out of it. ( Family Guy, volume nine, disc 1). I put everything back together and voila! It works again!

How to repair a sticky/jammed singer heavy duty 4423

Put a felt spool pin holder (an extra one comes with machine and it's either red or white felt with a circle cut out of it in the center)...remove bobbin, set felt circle in bobbin case to keep bobbin from wiggling. The back and forth motion is knocking the thread out causing it to lay flat against top of the bobbin when you start machine, but felt puts bobbin in correct position! Make sure thread falls into tension slots and carefully pull thread back to left of silver piece (stitch finger). Pull up your bobbin thread. Put in new needle since "bird nesting" or jam may have bent the one previously used. Now it should purr like a kitten...smooth sailing! This is how I fixed my Singer Heavy Duty 4423 when I realized the problem is that the bobbin case is a bit wide and felt takes up slack, raising bobbin also to keep bobbin thread moving smoothly through so it doesn't jump out of tension and rest on top of bobbin!!! Works now!

Xbox 360 wont read games

Hello Shawn Francis,

This problem happens to a very high percentage of consumers of the Microsoft Xbox 360 Console, so there is no need to fret. The "Open Tray" problem is a common problem, thus' there is a way you can fix it. Most solutions require you to open the console, unless the solution is banging on the top of the console, which I don't recommend.

- Reader -- When your Xbox 360 console is opened, open the disk tray and inspect the reader. This may be dirty. Try to clean it off with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. There is NO need to assemble the xbox back together when doing each step. Plug in all needed cables into the Xbox 360 and try BEFORE you re-assemble it.

- Magnet -- Inspect the top cover of the disk tray and you will see a black circle, and on the other side, (underneath the sticker,) a silver circle. That silver circle is the magnet that keeps a game disc in place as it spins. It may be out of place, and causing the game disc to move everywhere, not letting the reader read it. There are several methods to take the magnet and the black holder off of the disc tray top cover, just try a YouTube search. Once that is off, you can place the magnet and the black cover onto the Xbox 360 disc spinner, and the disc tray problem will most likely be solved.

If you have any other problems, or concerns, feel free to contact me at any time.

After it says reading disc it goes back to saying open tray

I assume you have an xbox? This is a common problem. if it is under warranty, call microsoft. If not, open it up, take the dvd drive and open it up, grab the laser assembly (BE CAREFUL) and slide it back and forth. Blow any dust out with a can of compressed air (NOT an air compressor), put it back together, and try it. If it doesn't work, you likely need a new laser. Make sure that the disc you are tryting to play is clean and not scratched. If there is a circle scratch, that disc is done for.

Panasonic sc-pt1050 just displays close. Ive tried unplugging it and leaving off for a while, but that didnt work. The disc tray is closed and when it turns on it dosent even try to read the disc nor can...

I have the same exact problem. Turns out my toddler has stuck a piece of paper in the tray, so the tray was just stuck. I just undo the four screws on the side and 3 in the back, lifted up the top cover, remove the paper causing the jam, put everything back together. Problem solved. Saved $140 from having to sent it to Panasonic

Disc tray automatically opens when computer is turned on. push it closed and it opens back up. got to hold it closed for it to stay closed.

In 99.9% of the cases where a CD player or reader has problems with the tray, even if it is not a computer CD tray, it's just because the sensors inside the device that tells it if the tray is open, closed or jammed are covered with dirt, dust and/or grime and just can't find the tray's position anymore, so it tells the reader that it is jammed or whatever and has it try to open it up all the time cause it never receives the signal from the sensor telling it that it is now closed and ready to go. So if you are good with electronics, you can take apart the unit yourself and locate and clean all the sensors with either contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol and put it back together again, and it should work fine now. If you do not want to risk damaging the unit, take it to your local technician and ask him to clean the sensors for you.
