Question about RCA T13208 13 in. TV/VCR Combo

1 Answer

TV/VCR combo The RCA TV/VCR combo won't record the picture anymore even though it records the audio.  Pretty frustrating when I use the Timer to record something when I am gone and settle in to watch it later and all I get is audio.  I ran a Head cleaner through the VCR part twice.  No change.  Thanks.

DVD and VCR recorder with this product?

As long as you have Composite/SVHS Video Input, Usually a Yellow RCA Socket or a 4 pin Mini-DIN & red & White, AV (Audio Visual) RCA sockets on the machine, AND you can select an "External" input, then YES anything that can connect with this way will work.

Vcr will not record sound any more.

Try with another cable, the cable may either be loose or damaged. If that doesn't work it is a problem with the VCR itsself

Trying to help this older lady with a emerson tv/vcr combo. She has no manual with set. Setting up to record same station everyday at same time. VCR will record but when playing back she only gets sound no...

The TV should be on channel 2, 3, or 4 to work correctly. There might be a small switch on the back of the VCR that lets you select the channel that it wil play back on.

Also, look on the remote control for the VCR and see if there is a button labeled TV/Video, and press that while something is playing. This switches back and forth between the TV signal and the VCR signal and it could solve your problem.

I want to record a dvd from my tv/dvd/vcr combo to an external vcr. i'm not trying to break any laws, it's only for my babygirls personal enjoyment. please tell me how the wires should be

as long as you're not breaking any laws you can connect the video/audio output of your combo unit to the video/audio input of your vcr using audio/video rca cables where the yellow plug goes to the video input/output and the red plug to the right audio and the white to the left audio input/output.

Recording speed is the last item on the timer programming. SP or SLP. Some remotes have a button that will allow you to change the speed, when recording manually.

Record one channel while watchign another

Ouirkygirl, a TV\VCR combo can only watch TV on a channel & record THAT channel. If the monitor is connected directly to the VCR then u should be able to RECORD what u see. Do you have a separate channel changer [buttons that say up\down channel ?] on the face of the VCR portion? If so, then u should be able to change the channel ON the VCR, record that channel, then change the channel ON the TV, .... I don't think so,.........any thing is possable

please explain your words :: "but when I record something it jumps to tha channel evern if I am watching something else at the time."

Unable to record or playback VCR tapes

All you can do by yourself unlesss you are a tech. Is run a head cleaner tape through it. It sound like a dirty head to me. Here is something a lot of people do not know, The video head and the audio head in a VCR are two separate heads. thats why you can loose picture and not sound. Best taken apart and cleaned manually with rubbing alchol but not advisable if you are not experienced due to high voltage and if cleaning improperly you can damage the unit worse. Good Luck

Audio on recorded tape

you could try a wet type tape head cleaner but I doubt if that will help but it couldnt hurt. These combo units are built so tight together I wouldnt recomend that you try to open it. I would though look through the front door and look toward the right side and see if something got inserted into the machine and is blocking the audio head. If this dosent get you back audio then you have a curcuit problem and you are gonna need to take her in for an estimate Good Luck
