Hey michael,
Sometime when you add line to a spincast reel, where you tie the knot and wind line onto the reel, it makes a bump in the spool, this "bump" in the spool sometimes hits inside the reel everytime it makes a rotation....

How do I get my zebco to retrieve the line

Your reel has pickup pins on the spool that will guide the line onto the spool when you reel in.
Try holding gentle tension on the slack line just above your reel and start reeling in. If this does not work then remove the top cover of the reel and look to see if the line is tangled up on the inside around the center shaft underneath the pickup pin cover.
if this is the case, simply unscrew the pickup pin cover from the center shaft. It will be on the tight. Remove the tangled line and reassemble.

How do you put line on a magda pro star reel

Mount your reel on your rod. Run the line from your filler spool thrthrough the bottom guide of your rod. Pass the line througo the line guide on your reel and tie your line to your reel using an arbor knot. Put a pencil or dowel rod through your filier spool and have someone hold light tension on the spool as you reel line onto your reel.

How to get to wiring plug

If you're talking about the cord that you pull out from the reel located at the rear of the machine, you'll have to take the top cover off first. Usually two philips head screws located under rear exhaust cover and one maybe two near the front end. Once that is removed, there will be two more philips screws, one on each side of the top rear of the machine and one on the bottom. Remove all three of them, pull about a foot of cord off of the reel and get it to catch, the using the heel of your right hand, hit the very back of the machine, (the rubber bumper part) on the top with a motion pulling toward the back. This may take a couple of tries if you're not used to removing this part, but one or two swipes should eventually loosen the rear cover. Once it is loosened you may carefully pull it out of the back end of the machine and take off the two wire connections. This will free up the cordwinder assy. so you can take it to a spot where you have some room to work. Now lay the assembly on it's back and take the four screws, one from each corner of the rear cover, out and lay them aside. Thread the cord plug through the opening and wind the free cord back onto the reel, allowing the spring to pull it slowly out of your hand and then wrap the plug end around and around the reel till the spring is unwound, then you can remove the "C" clip from the center post, sometimes hidden under a cardboard washer. With the clip removed you can gently pull the cord reel up and off the post, carefully bringing the rewind spring up and off it's post as well. If you've tested the cord and are sure that it's your problem then you can cut the remainder of the cord from the reel and throw it away. The reel is easier to deal with without the cord on it. Turn the reel over so the back cover is exposed, there should be three screws that can be removed so you can take the connections loose from the posts inside and make ready for the new cord. Once you've attached the new cord and tied your strain relief knot, like the one you removed, you're ready to wrap the cord onto the reel and just reverse the procedure. When you get ready to put the loaded reel back into the cordwinder body, just before you put the cover on, wrap the plug end around the reel three times. This loads the spring so that it will pull the cord completely back into the unit. And it doesn't hurt to drop a spot of oil onto the top of the post for the spring.

I have a Ryobi spinning reel SX4N,in excellent shape. Ineed to know how the springs go onthe bail to makr it work. Thanks

With the new line threaded through all of the fishing rod's eyelets, open the bail. You open the bail by pulling it over across the spool, until it locks in an open position. Tie the line in a knot around the reel's spool, and loosely wrap the line around the spool at least 7 to 8 times, then pull slowly on the line, to tighten the line that is wrapped around the spool.
Holding the box or spool of fishing line between your feet, so that it will remain close to you, start reeling in your casting rod. When you start reeling it in, the bail automatically closes, and makes the line wrap onto the spool properly. Reel the new line in until the spool is about 75% full, or to the lines marked inside the reel's spool. Cut the new line about 8 feet from the outer-most eyelet of your fishing rod.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Ihi i have a michigan brand brush cutter i bought online it does not have an arrow on reel so i dont know which way line feeds onto reel and also does the spring go on the base or under the bump i am...

On most standard weed trimmers, you load the line counterclockwise. This is with the inside of the reel facing up towards you. You see; once the reel is installed and the head turned over for operating, then the line unloads clockwise. The spring will go under the bump knob and set into the middle of the spool (or reel as you call it).
