SOURCE: circular saw locking bolt turns spindle

There is a button on the saw that holds the shaft still. Unplug the saw and put light pressure on this button while you slowly turn thr blade by hand. When it gets to the hole, the button will drop into the shaft. Keep it pressed down and unbolt the nut.

Testimonial: "Ronald - There is no locking button on this model. Could the blade locking mount have broken free from the spindle-locking bolt assembly. allowing the spindle to turn when the blade is locked? Thx"

Blade on my husqavarna zeroturn will not stay tight

If the blade has a star pattern you have to be sure the blade mates the spindle properly. You should be able to turn the bolt in with your fingers. I usually allow the blade to slowly turn with the bolt/washer until the bolt pushes blade into the spindle mount. Then rotate and position the blade until it mates and locks onto the spindle... continue to turn bolt with fingers until it is snug. Then tighten to 50 ft/lb... which is hard to do with a short (less than a foot) wrench.

You should have a 18" breaker bar or better a torque wrench, and a scrap piece of 2x4 to use as a wedge to prevent blade from turning while tightening to spec.

The blade broke off inside and I can't get it out. Please help me figure how to get it out.

moden jigsaw blades are held in with a taper chuck system
disconnect the unit from the wall socket
push the spindle all the way in
now press on either side of the blade holder and that should move down releasing the blade
now while holding that section down turn the unit right side up and the broken bit should just fall out

The extension post in my magimix 4200 is stuck on the motor shaft seems like It's welded on can anyone help

How to Change a Magimix Food processor plastic spindle.
This is meant as a guide only BBS ltd takes no responsibility for any damage done. We always advise that this should be done by a Magimix approved service agent.

The spindle is the part that sticks out of the motor this drives the blades, knifes, discs and cones for the food processor, this part may become worn after time or use.
Cover the main body with a cloth so as not to damage the look of the food processing machine.
Place two blocks of wood about 10cms either side of spindle cover. Then place two flat screwdrivers Horizontal either side of Magimix food processor spindle
Push down on handle of screwdrivers apply even pressure (keeping eyes well away from the spindle cover, they can fly off fast sometimes.)
The spindle will rise.
This will leave the metal centre shaft, Replace with a spindle cover bought from
www.magimix-spares.co.uk. Make sure you choose correct model, usually named on front of machine, or phone 01252 727755 for help.
When replacing, make sure that the New Food processor spindle is lined up and slide the spindle onto the centre shaft. Make sure this goes all the way down by gently tapping with a hammer.
All blades and attachments should be checked before placing back onto spindle cover, if the inside is damaged, this could damage the spindle cover again, any blade, dough blade , disc support that is marked should be replaced.

Blade not turning

Ouch. That doesn't sound good.
Is the blade seating & locking on the spindle? Try turning it with your hand (unplug the blender first!).
Examine the underside of the blade, and the spindle, for cracks.

If you find a problem here, it may be a simple matter of replacing the blade assembly.

If not, try running it dry... no blade, no container. Just short shots of one second. Is the spindle turning? If it turns, then put the container & blade back on... but just put water in the container.
If the blade turns, whipping the water (but doesn't turn if you put something more dense in it), that suggests that your bearings are going out.

In summary:
  • If the spindle turns but the blade doesn't turn, look at your blade assembly. (Plastic can hide a crack.)
  • If the spindle turns "sometimes", but not when subjected to resistance, then it's probably worn bearings.
  • If the spindle doesn't turn at all, then your blender will need to be professionally repaired or replaced.

Engage blades makes noises

Sounds like the bearings are going out in one or both of your blade spindles. With the belt off,(and engine, of course) engage the lever on the dash. That will release the blade brake so the blades will be free to turn. Spin each one by hand. It will be easy to tell if the bearings are bad.
