Question about Sony Video Cameras
Sony handycam HC36 - Error message (on LCD screen) ''E:61:00''. Symptom(s): seems to be regarding 'Focus', when in camera-mode (playes back prerecorded Mini-DV tapes & memory card normally).
Cam will not focus, either in 'auto', 'manaul', or 'spot focus'. Additionally, 'Tele-Macro' does not fuction.
'Zoom' DOES work.
Have already tried 'Reset' button... (not resolved).
Owner's manual error code index says to contact Sony authorized service dept. I'm comfortable opening the cam, and attempting repair myself... if someone can suggest remedy to problem.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

There is no problem on your camera, DCR-HC19E is PAL system(European system) DCR-HC20 is NTSC(American system). Are you in US or Europe? I think your TV is NTSC, cause the tape recorded on DCR-HC19E you played has no color. To confirm, connect your HC20 to TV in camera mode, not recording yet, just look at the TV as your monitor, If its in color, no problem, just erase the old video recorded on the HC19E, but if its important to you, you can convert it to NTSC using a PC. thanks

that problem is on the lens assembly...one the two motor is not working properly...sometimes it is a poor connection to the socket of the main board...other is photo sensor of the lens(not the ccd image sensor)or the driver ic of the 2 motor...i suggest you have to go the service center for repairing you camera cause it need to disassemble the camera for doing this....

I have been fighting the same problem. I just now picked up the camera and a small rubber roller fell out of the tape door area. I was not sure where it came from but looking closer there are 4 small rods sticking up on the right side inside the area where the tape is located. It looked like this was where the roller went so I placed it on the center rod and replaced the tape. This solved the problem and I am now able to view and recored as before. There most likely is a part that has either fell or broken off or is loose inside the tape area.

SOURCE: Unable to load tape
according to the symptom you don't need reset, This problem is related to the loading tape path which is mechanically unstable, that's why problem arise, For your convenience please see the given below pic of SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM to understand better.
Your camera needs just mechanical adjustment by any expert, contact any expert nearby or from Sony for mechanical adjustment, this will solv the problem.
Thanks for using fixya.
