Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

Can't sign into xbox live - i have had a connection set up for a couple of years with no problem. Over the past few weeks, sign in (auto on startup) with no probs and then play for a few hours. Switch off xbox and come back to it a few hours later and then it won't let me sign-in at all, manually or auto. What is the problem here? If I wait til the next day, it seems to allow me to sign-in again.....

How do i set up live

In order to set up an xbox live account you need a few things. First is an internet connection to the Xbox itself. Secondly is an email account, as you need this to set up the live account. Third is an Xbox live subscription for gold if you intend to play games online. When you set up your account, you will be allotted 1 month free of gold subscription, after that, you can buy gold subscription cards at walmart, or kmart, or radio shack. An Xbox live silver subscription is free and allows you to download game content and movies and such, but not play games online. When you connect your box to the internet, you sign in with your profile and your then already on an xbox live silver subscription. You can upgrade to gold again buy either buying a gold card, and entering the code, by redeeming your code through, there is a tab after you push the dashboard button. Or you can choose to put in your credit card information, and have it charge you monthly, three months, or even yearly!

Paid a years on xbox360 gold membership for my son, xbox is connected to live. I am connected for first month free but my son can not get connected.

Your son's xbox live account might have no permission to access online xbox gaming, to be able to check and correct this problem try following this steps:
  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.
  3. Sign in using the e-mail address and password you used when you set up your child's Xbox LIVE account.
  4. Select Online Gameplay, Xbox 360 Online Games.
  5. Select Allowed or Blocked

1st check that your router is xbox live compatable at:
http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox/xboxlive/getconnected/compatiblenetworkequipment/compatiblenetworkingequipment.aspx#routers

Next go to your dashboard, select my xbox then system settings, then network settings, then test xbox live connection. then consult this web page for how to fix the issue:

If that doesn't help, I would call xbox live customer service at:

How 2 install xbox live and how u sign up

Ok, to sign up for xbox live, you first need to connect to xbox live.
1. Make sure you have a cable modem and a router.
2. When you have those installed correctly, go to the network settings option on the xbox 360's dashboard.
3. Go down to the third option and select your wireless network.
4. Select it and test your xbox live connection, when you get it all to work, you will need a supscription card, (1 month-1 year) and enter it along with your creation of your gamertag.
For more help just ask.
