I put a new sim card in my sony ericsoon w200i and it has blocked me from the phone and i dont know the PUK code for it is there any way you can tell me what it is ?

These directions are for an AT and T phone, but other than that, are the same for any carrier. PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. This is a uniqueeight digit code specific to your SIM card. This is required when the PINnumber to unlock your mobile phone is entered incorrectly 3 times. You are thengiven 10 attempts to enter your PUK code. If an incorrect PUK code is enteredafter the 10th attempt, you will block your SIM card permanently and willrequire a new SIM card from your mobile phone provider.

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone you can only get the PUK code for the sim card by ringing your service provider you need to give them the sim cards number and they will then give you the code for free over the phone.

if you have entered the code wrong more than 5 times then the chances are the sim card is now blocked and can no longer be used.

you can put a new sim card in and this wont ask for the PUK code, how ever if the sim card is blocked you will lose all the info stored on the sim card such as numbers,texts etc so make sure you dont try guessing the PUK code as its totally random code and the only way of getting this is by calling your service provider

PUK means "personal unlocking key" .

The PUK code is asked if you enter a wrong pin 3 times.

You need to call your phone service company, they can retrieve the puk code from a database
for free.

In your case you need to contact your SIM card phone provider technical support to unlock the SIM.


The PIN and PUK are related to the SIM card, not to the phone.

If you replace the SIM card with a different one, then the phone should not ask for the PUK anymore.

PIN code is SIM's code. Atfirst block the puk by putting wrong code three times. Then collect the puk & new PIN code from your service provider.

Well do onething take out the your sim card and note the 24 or less number written on the back of sim
and call to the customer care from other mobile and ask him to tell the puk code as well as pin code

dont try to enter the puk code yourself as it is the code of your sim number and if you enter puk code wrong many times your sim will be locked.

you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times now you are required to enter a puk code to reset the pin code. 

The puk code is sim card spesific it comes with the sim card when you get it or you can get it by calling your phone service provider of the sim card to get the puk code. 


if you have entered the puk code wrong too many times you will make the sim card useless and you will have to contact your phone service provider for a new sim card, it will probably cost.

Every PUK code is unique so nobody can tell you your PUK number, but i will tell you what you can do!
1) If you still have your packet that your Sim Card came in, you should find your PUK number in there, if you don't have the packet, please read bellow.

2) You must get a phone that is on the same network as your phone and call the networks Customer Care and ask them for your PUK number, they will ask you for your phone number, then they will tell you your PUK number. Once you have done this, you will be able to reset your Pin number so you will be able to go into your phone again.
