How can i install the web cam

What's the brand and model of your webcam? it should have an instruction there didn't you see it?

Some of the webcams needed to be plugged first before you can install the driver but some needed the driver to be installed first before plugging in the webcam.

USB does not register on computer

tech support for MI has been very good to me in the past on at least two occasions, one regarding a IC50 webcam in which the driver that was causing static in the image, and a MI wireless mouse that has worked fairly well since I got it about year ago. But it was a ***** for a blind man like myself to setup and configure.
Assuming the driver is still installed and you are sure that it is the correct driver for the cam, I would suggest removing mouse and keyboard just to see if that alliviated the webcam detection issue. I have seen circumstances in the past in which devices would basically take over the USB disallowing the use of other devices. This may not be happening but it is worth a shot in the dark. In the meantime, try to give MI another day or two for an answer. Here is the website just in case you are not getting the driver from their main website as it can be very difficult to find for most people..

Won't work at all

uninstall everything. unplug the cam. restart. put cd in. run the auto run and it will install the drivers and program for the cam. after its done take the cd out. plug in your cam. the PnP will find it and automatically update the drivers and recognize the cam. it should work then.

ok, you need to get the CORRECT drivers. Unistall all the drivers you have installed. Next, go to

Download the right drivers, you have to go thru a series of ads, just click no thanks on them. After you download, make sure your camera is NOT plugged in. Now install the new driver. Plug the camera in, Windows Hardware Manager should start up. Tell it to search for the drivers in C:\windows\system or system32, can't remember which one. It will say a different camera name, don't worry it's the driver you want. Install and your set.

remove drivers and re-install from drivers from net and plug webcam in when asked for making sure drivers are vista compatable. if all goes well you should get device found if not got my computer and highlight it the goto properties then device manager and see if you have any triengles with a question mark by them if you see the webcam under usb device select the usb root hub abd uninstall every one in turn then click search on the top bar this looks like spy glass and computer click on this and let search and find devices once done it should find cam driver an insall them correctly this usb roothub drivers can get currupted and cause devices not to be installed properly. hope this works
