Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Edition for PC

1 Answer

Ie keeps closing automatically as it says it has encountered a problem. It then tries to restart and keeps closing and trying to restart. Then it stops after 3-4 times and then a pop up on the bottom right says it has closed due to a security problem. I have checked for malwar and checked for updates and no fix. It is with Vista

Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close

Hi there
You can try see if this may do it.

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

IE error message, closes when entering an address

I always use Firefox as these problem never happen and it is free program and easy to download.
but to answer your question, go to IE and in tools select internet options and delete all temp. files and files stored on your computer. You may have some cookie that is causing the problem. Other causes may be a virus. but first do as I suggested and restart your pc. at any rate. here is the link to download firefox

I keep getting this message and can't open IE8. "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I got this same problem with IE 6 and 7. I love...

Hi,
This happens because some important files requires for IE might got corrupted or deleted due to improper shutdown or virus problem. Just reboot your PC into sfae mode and try opening your IE. If problem persists in safe mode too, then download IE8 from here and install it.
I hope this is helpful to you

Constantly encountering an error and needs to close

I think, its some Add-on which is creating this problem in IE.

Please check the Add-ons in the Tools "Manage Add-Ons" Menu and try Enable / Disable for the Add-on which you think is not required for your IE.

when it displays a message that "ie has encountered a problem and needs to close", click on link in that message which says click here to get more information and look for modname. then search which application that modname is related to. it could be some add-on on ie. disable all add-ons and toolbars.

Your windows installation CD might have become corrupt. Use a fresh CD and enter into BIOS settings to set Default Settings before installation.

To stop your PC from restarting whenever it encounters a fault: Click Start, Control Panel, open "System", then under the "Advanced" tab select "Settings" in the Startup and Recovery section and uncheck "Automatically restart" under "System Failure". Once that is done you can do a manual windows update and see if there are critical and IE (internet explorer) updates that may cure your internet connection problems. You may also want to run a full system virus scan in Safe Mode to eliminate any viral threats that may be causing the problem, as there are current trojans that are affecting IE and Firefox (probably others) Browsers.
I hope this helps.

Internet Explorer Closes

If your system wasn't set up to do MS Auto-update from the factory, I recommend you use it.
It is likely that the IE and possibly other Windows functions need one of the hundreds of tweaks MS constantly makes to try to keep their Edsel working properly.

Open your Control Panel from the misnamed 'Start' menu, click on Automatic Updates and check (or set) your settings.

BTW, lots of luck with your Compaq/HP laptop; I won't own another one nor service any HP system again.
