Cant connect to internet

Check your all physical connection and cable..

First,restart your computer

->Open web browser and enter the IP address and enter the login details on the login screen and proceed.Click Router Status under Maintenance and check if you see your IP address.

->If you see 0.0.0.0, the router is not obtaining the IP address. It can happen due to various reasons. Contact your ISP and ask for the details including username, password for PPPoE etc. and try to connect to the Internet again afterwards.

->After configure you router ,open Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig/all' and hit Enter. Check Default Gateway

->If you are still unable to browse the Internet, ping your router's connection to the PC. Open Command Prompt, type 'ping IPaddress(ex:192.168.1.0)', hit Enter.

->If you get the Request timed out message then check your router connection again and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the router.

Have got good connection but no internet access.

There were so many cases or possibilities why you can't able to connect to the internet please try some of the steps below.

Try to obtain a new IP from your router. Open your command prompt, type cmd, then type (ipconfig /release) after that type (ipconfig /renew) and try to connect again.

Try to ping a particular site. Open the command prompt type in (ping www.google.com) for example, if you the site reply it means you have a browser problem. Uninstall your browser and install a new one.

Spyware also messes up with internet connectivity you can download a free edition of antispyware at http://www.superantispyware.com and scan your pc against malware and spyware.

Ensure proper ip address is recieved from the wireless router

you can see the ip by typing ipconfig/all in the command prompt

ping the default gateway of router if ping is successful the router wireless connection is good

Ensure correct password is given when connecting to the internet if router is password protected.

try to ping webiste in command prompt like ping www.yahoo.com if reply comes means you can confirm that you is connected to internet

Linksyswireless-N WRT120N The ethernet ports dont work when connected to my desktop but works on other pc's or my laptop.

If you can use the same cable and ethernet port to connect to the router with a laptop, or other computers, then you have isolated the problem to your non-connecting computer. Plug in the computer with the connection issue with the same ethernet cable. Next, open up command prompt and type in the command "ping 127.0.0.1". This command checks your NIC card to see if it is working properly (if you get "Reply from 127.0.0.1", then your NIC card is good, but if not, then you need to replace your NIC card.). If your NIC card is good, ping your default gateway (i.e. using a linksys with a default IP, type "ping 192.168.1.1" in command prompt) Your router's private IP Address, which can be found by successfully connecting another pc and, on the connected pc, typing "ipconfig" in command prompt, is also known as the default gateway. If you get 4 "Request timed out.", or "Reply from 169.X.X.X" ("X" being any number), then your network connection settings on your pc are incorrect. To fix these settings, assuming that you have DHCP enabled on both your router and the computer being troubleshooted, use the commands "ipconfig /release" and then "ipconfig /renew" in command prompt. Give the computer a minute or two to allow the computer time to acquire a new IP Address, and the correct configuration from your router. Now your computer should be connecting properly.

Cannot connect although plugged in

Check the ipaddress. Type ipconfig in command prompt. Then ping a website in command prompt if u get proper ip address e.g 10.132.147.121. Try to ping www.google.com in command prompt. If u are unable to connect. Tried to release renew Ip address.
Type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew in command prompt. If you are able to ping google and still unable to connect to website using internet explorer, then issue with browser or with OS.

Pc to pc

follow instructions for setup.
1. in your computer network adapter TCP/IP settings, set into "Obtain as IP address Automatically".
2. do the same(step 1) in other computer
3. after saving the settings you should have now a network for two computer thru router.
4. one of your computer should have an IP 192.168.0.2 or 192.168.1.2 as most of router default IP series is 192.168.0.0
5. if you have this series of IP for both computer you have already a network
6. to test if both computer is communicating run this command at DOS or Command Prompt( click start, run and command the click OK
7. at DOS command prompt type PING 192.168.0.2 (ping the IP address of the other computer in your network)
8. or you can also ping the computer name like PING mycomputer(your laptop or desktop computer name)
9. successful PING should have a "reply from" results.

Hope this will help you
