Vizio sm420m went out in my living room, my other tvs are working.power sometimes come on. No sound or picture but retreving data appears and hdmi 1 appears. Remote doesnt work and i put new battery

Same thing just happened to me contacted Vizio had me unplug the TV from the wall for about a minute and then replug and cut the TV back on and everything was fine. I have the television hooked into HDMI1.

You can not use HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 output at the same time. You have to switch between them.

OK, From what I am understanding is that you both are trying to uilize a digital audio source (HDMI cables are digital audio only) and hence this is the problem. You can only use an analog audio source (connection) to utilize the audio output to zone 2. A simple soultion is to use the analog audio in conjuction with the digital. Connect the digital (HDMI, Optical, Coax) to the main zone and the left and right audios to zone 2.

Basically the guide will show you how to stop the heat build up with videos and household items, of course if you are in doubt send it in.
