Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Where do I connect the speaker wires?

My daughter gave me a NAD Stereo Integrated Amplifier 304 which a friend of hers had just had completely renovated. I want to use it to connect to my Sony stereo turntable PS-J20 but I haven't a clue where to connect the speakers as I have no manual. When I have tried various things the noise is horrendous.
There are 8 knobs at the back to twist the speaker wires into.
The top row, marked A, has R+zigzag/red/black/black/red/zigzag;+L
The bottom row is the same but marked B.
None of this makes any sense to me.
Have I got the right amp for my turntable and does anyone know how to connect the speakers please?
Thanks
Sam

Because your amp has 4 channels on it on side A you can connect 2 speakers for left and right and the B you can do the same. your red is positive and black is negative. so in total you can have 4 speakers connected to your amp

Connect JVC MX-GT88 speakers to a differant reciever

If it has a bi-amp, you can connect the speakers to it. By the amplifier, if it's a stereo with bi-amp, be sure that it has at least 400 watts and up in order for the speakers to turn out great, if a receiver like a integrated amplifier, it may have like 2-10 connections, you can connect the speakers all together if it has more than 3 connections, if below 3, you may need to take the speakers apart and make it 3 way by connecting one wire to the tweeter, another wire from the tweeter to the main or mid speaker then one more wire from the main or mid speaker to the sub.

NAD M3 power light turns red immediately and PROTECT message displays. Amp keeps functioning but volume control doesn't work up or down.

Hello
Check the connection to speaker with this amp, for any short or any other fault. disconnect the outputs, ie, speakers from the amp, and switch it On, and see the protect display comes or not. If it comes, the fault is internal and the set need service.
Your M3 dual Mono integrated amp, is of high output power and its outputs are protected against any overload or short circuit. If the system detect any among this condition specified above, it will show protect mode display.
Never load this amp, as protection display is there, as it may damage the speaker or its internal power amplifier section circuits, may cause more money to get it repaired. OK.

NAD C326BEE amp problem. Connected to recommended Wharfdale speakers and NAD CD player and previously working fine for a year. Now red light flashing on amp and no sound when system is turned on.

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as a root cause for ntermittent shutdown.

Nad 304 amplifier no output, relais not willing to

The 2 BIAS resistors of 47kohm, R333 R334, replaced with new 1W resistors. 1 resistor was totally open and 1 resistor was 55k.

It were 1/2W resistors, replaced them with 1W resistors. Very low cost repair for a High End amplifier. Should live for another 10 years.

What is the maximum speaker wattage for a NAD c340 integrated amplifier?

The specs say 2x50W into 8 ohms. I could not located the 4 ohm specs, but it is logical to assume that you can run 2x100W into 4 ohms.

The back panel seems to imply that 4 ohms is a limit for speakers.

So any speaker over 100W capability should be fine, either 4 ohms or 8 ohms.

Connecting NAD 314 Receiver\ preamp to Carver M-500t to speakers

Dear Tim,
Yes, you can connect your NAD as a preamp to the Carver power Amp.

Connect the NAD's pre-out to the input of the Carver Power Amp. You can then connect the Klipsch speaker to the Carver. Set the gain control on the NAD.

Now you should be able to control all the input and the main volume control from the NAD.
