This is probably because the karaoke is on a channel which is not connected correctly to the MK5808. It will probably expect an input from the microphone and one of rhe 4 channels on the back.

Isn't it a VGA cable?(15 pins-3 rows of 5 pins,slightly staggered.There is a 15 pin D-sub connector(2 rows of pins)-usually for extending a joystick cord on a PC.
