Question about Televison & Video
There is a slight illumination when you turn the TV on - i.e. you can notice the difference between the black screen when it is on and when it is in standby.
The standby button illuminates, but cannot get a picture or sound.
Any help appreciated.
The light you see is the backlight, you have either a bad signal board or tcon board which is part of the screen usually.
only cheap solution may be if the capacitors on the power supply, if you want you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top and are easy to solder in cost about $1
try reseating the thick cable running to the panel (Tcon board) top center inside the set
