I am trying to understand the functions each of the contacts between the ATS and Generator labeled "0", "194", "23", "N1", "N2", and "T1". What function does each perform and what electrical values...

What electrical values does each utilize? I am trying to utilize a smart Relay driver from my solar system to communicate the start and stop of the generator as an override to the primary utility failure or restoration as a way to start and stop the generator.

From your statement you are a diy playing with electricity
that is ******* and dangerous
if you do not get it right , damage to the generator will result, somebody could get electrocuted and the utility supplier could have you for damage to their system
all you have to do is call in an accredited electrician and the job would be done in 10 minutes safely
while it is possible to set up that way that when the utility power fails, the gen set starts so that solar power can still be used in the house
it requires relays and circuit breakers and more that what you have in your description

SOURCE: Generac Guardian 15kW Generator

That sounds just about right, if the relay contacts get welded together it sometimes takes out the driver on the printed circuit board. As you found out, 12vdc from 23 to 194 makes the transfer switch move to the Generator position, relay not energized makes the ATS move to the Normal position.

You can make a nice test function by installing a 10 amp contact switch in series with either the N1 or N2 terminals. When the switch is open the generator thinks the Normal power has failed.

Carl

SOURCE: HONDA GENERATOR PROBLEM

The armature (rotating field) is powered by the voltage regulator for 'excitation' which is the term describing a magnetic, revolving field. This magnetic field 'induces' voltage into the stator windings (stationary outer winding), producing voltage for use at the recepticles. Some older generators used a 'permanent magnet field, instead of using a powered winding from a regulator and the voltage and frequency were set by the RPM.
Frequency is still a function of RPM, but the voltage is controlled by the voltage regulator.

SOURCE: Asco transfer switch does not

Same problem here with the ASCO 165, after a couple of fierce lightning strikes yesterday that did over $10k damage to my neighbor's electronics, and also took out my garage door opener.

I'm pretty confident the control board is the problem, but I don't plan to try to replace components. Will probably opt for a new control board from ASCO, or another source, assuming they are still available.

SOURCE: Just finished installing a 20 KW Generac generator

Check the connections on the tranfer relay and two coils. The two coils have blue wires. I have seen them come off from assembly or shipping its common. Each coil has two blue wires #8 and E1 with crimp steak ons and limit switches make sure there all pushed on all the way. Hope this helps

SOURCE: I am installing a 20kw Generac generat or, how

You need to pull in two yellow wires called N1 N2 for sensing 220v. One red and one white called 23 and 194 those are your 12vdc transfer wires. And then last of all your 12vdc from battery charger. Hope this helps

Generac generator won't turn off in automatic

It is possibly a transfer switch issue, not the generator control board. Have an electrican kill utility power, let it start and run, then disconnect the sensing wires in the ATS. If it stops problem is ATS

Ways to find highest common factors?

Do a prime factorization of the two numbers. Use condensed (power) notation for each prime factor.
Example
N1=(2^5)*(3^4)*(7^2)(11^3)
N2=(2^4)*(5^6)*(11)
2 is a factor in N1 and N2, the smallest power of 2 is 4, thus 2^4 is common to N1, and N1. You could write 2^5=2*2^4
11 is a factor in N1, and N2, the smallest exponent of 11 is 1, thus 11 is a common factor of N1 and N2.
Highest common factor of N1 and N2 is (2^4)*11

5875 generac starts running when switched to auto , Utility is hot .. using nexus smart sw.

Check the N1 N2 fuses in transfer switch one or both of them are probably blown. N1 N2 fuses have the yellow wires on them if they are blown the generator thinks there is no utility power and will start There needs to be 220 volt on them .

I have a wiring question. i have a generac 5522 generator. what signals the generator to start? is it n1 and n2 or is it 15b and 23? if it is 15b and 23 does wire 23 just come back to the gen with 12...

The generators control board senses lost utility (N1 & N2) and after a time delay kicks in the backup. The board sends 12 v to the transfer relay thru wire 194 then back to terminal 23. This is held open till the startup timer times out and only after the warmup does wire 23 close to ground. This energizes the transfer relay, contacts close and E1 & E2 can now conduct generator produced electric to the transfer relay contacts, limit switch (XB1), Wire B, and a bridge rectifier.

If a consumer is not experiencing any issues currently, there is no need for the consumer to take immediate action because the one-time fix to resolve the service issue will be available if an AVIC-N1 and AVIC-N2 later experiences the service issue. _Importantly, the service issue does not pose any health or safety risk._ Pioneer is aware of a potential issue with the flex-cable powering the flip screen to the AVIC-N1 and the AVIC-N2. After a number of power cycles, the cable has been observed to fail and cause the unit to malfunction (symptoms may include, but are not limited to, the flip-screen becoming blank) -- flex-cable failure can only be confirmed by Pioneer; standard service charges may apply for service issues not related to the flex-cable upgrade. This issue may affect almost all AVIC-N1 units and AVIC-N2 units. Please contact Pioneer at the number listed below if you have a question about whether your AVIC-N1 or AVIC-N2 unit is affected by this issue, or if a specific malfunction affecting your AVCI-N1 or AVIC-N2 is related to this issue.
