Program name? I have an HP C4180 and when I would go into HP Solution Center, there would be three programs listed under software. Now there is only two programs: Photosmart Essentials and Photosmart Express. I liked using the third program for ocr recognition and cannot remember the name of it.

The software that comes with your printer is a suit of sotware and not different programs to be installed isolated.
So, f you have the original CD, unsistall and reinstall the printer driver and software.
If you don't have the CD, you can dowload the driver and software from HP supporrt pages. There is a link bellow.
Choose your sofware driver/language and select your system OS:

If you have the disk chuck it in and take a look at the 'utilities' available to install. If you don't have it, browse to the HP website, go to 'support' and enter the model number - there will be a load of drivers and applications free to download.
Best of luck

Have you run the check to make sure you have the latest drivers option on the HP website. You can also download the compatible version of the HP Solution Center from the same site.
Let me know if this helps you solve this problem. Thanks.

I am unable to bring up the HP Solution Center program which is software program scaning pictures, documents, etc.

Hello, Chuck. To check whether HP Solution Center displays in the list of installed programs: Click the Windows icon , click All Programs , and then click the HP folder. If HP Solution Center is in the list of HP programs, you have it installed. When you installed your printer's driver and if you selected Custom, you may have excluded the program. HP Solution Center is part of the Full Feature and Software Drivers program. If not installed, or to reinstall your printer's driver, including the HP Solution Center, go to www.hp.com, search for your printer and operating system and look for Full Featured Driver. Download and install. If this is not enough information, please let us know what printer you have and your operating system, as well as any errors you are getting when trying to open the HP Solutions center. Hope this helps..

Does a software program called HP Photosmart for Media Center exist. I think I accidently deleted a program under this name. I cannot open Media Center and a MS crash report is then sent.

IT comes with your HP printer if you have the HP printer and have the cd/dvd which came with your printer then put it in the Cd/DVD rom and install it. I hope it will help you. thanks

I am trying to scan a pic and my scaner says no scan options

Step one: Verify that the Digital Imaging Monitor is ready The Digital Imaging Monitor must be running in order for the Scan To function to work. The Digital Imaging Monitor icon normally appears in the system tray at the lower-right corner of the computer screen, and the monitor is ready when a check mark appears on the icon after Startup is complete. If the Digital Imaging Monitor is in the system tray, proceed to Step two. If the Digital Imaging Monitor does not appear in the system tray, follow these steps. Windows 98, Me, and XP
  1. Click Start , and then click Run .
  2. In the Open text box, type msconfig .
  3. Click OK .
  4. In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
  5. Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor . If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list, the driver was not correctly installed or a custom install was used. Proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.
  6. Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
  7. Click Apply , and then click Close .
  8. Click Yes to restart.
Windows Vista
  1. Click Start .
  2. In the Start Search text box, type msconfig and press Enter .
  3. On the User Account Control window, click Continue . The System Configuration Utility window displays.
  4. Click the Startup tab.
Step two: Populate the destination list The destination list must be populated in order for the Scan To function to work. Follow these steps to populate the destination list.
  1. Open the HP Solution Center. Use one of the following methods to open the HP Solution Center.
    • On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Solution Center icon.
    • On the taskbar, click Start , Programs , or All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
If more than one HP device is installed, click the tab for the All-in-One product. The HP Solution Center shows only the functions, settings, and support options that are appropriate for the selected HP product.
  2. Click Settings .
  3. Click Scan Settings and Preferences .
  4. Click Scan to... Setup .
  5. Click the Destination List tab. NOTE: Depending on the computer performance, it can take several minutes for the Front Panel Destination List to populate after the printer or computer is turned on.
  6. If the Front Panel Destination List is empty, continue with this procedure. If the Front Panel Destination List contains valid scan destinations, proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the software.
  7. Click each program to include on the Scan To list.
  8. Click the Add arrow.
  9. Click OK .
  10. Scan a document using the Scan To button on the front panel.

Step three: Uninstall and reinstall the software
  1. Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
  2. If the software installer does not automatically start, complete the following steps.
    1. Click Start , and then click Run .
    2. In the Open text box, type X:\setup , where X is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
    3. Click OK .
  3. On the installer screen, click Uninstall . If there is no Uninstall option, the software installation is incomplete.
  4. Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
  5. If the model supports custom install, install HP Imaging Device Functions to scan from the printer. The recommended install will install this feature automatically. It must be manually selected during a custom install.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.
  7. After successful installation, scan a document.

HP C5180 scanner won't scan an image

I'm running Windows Vista 64bit Ultimate Edition. Have the C5180, all-in-one. HP Solution Center continually closed, saying No HP Devices Found. I completely uninstalled the printer software, using the install utility. Then, using Add/Remove Programs, removed all of the other HP software on my PC. Then deleted the HP directory (in program files x86), and removed the HP registry key under software in both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE & HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Then rebooted. Once that was done and back up, I reran the install utility, but this time I followed the steps below (from here - http://hpanswers.blogspot.com/2007/12/no-hp-devices-detected-hp-solution.html):

Click on next until you get the below three options
(i) Recommended

(ii)Custom-------------->Select This

( iii)uninstall

Choose the custom install and click on next, ****

At begining of the installation, It gives you to 2 options

I) Yes, Check for updates..........

II) No, I prefer to do it Myself--Select this option and click on next

Immediatley in the next window ,you will have long list of softwares with the empty check boxes beside them.DO NOT select(check) Hp update, check rest of them and click on next to continue the installation.

You will able to open the HP solution centre with No errors.

Additionally, I did the following 2 steps, that I mostly found here (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00897551&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&softwareitem=oj-54112-1&os=2093&product=1153481&rule=9653&lang=en)

Add the following files to the Trusted programs list:

*
hpqkygrp.exe , located in the C:\program files\HP\digital imaging\bin directory.
*

Scanning

My Photosmart 2575 v has worked fine as well for over a year and now it won't scan. I get the same message: "Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I ran all updates and they said I have them all and everything is working perfectly. It's not though. I still can't scan. I tried their work-around by opening paint and then acquring image from the scanner but that does not work either.
