Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

"Whirlpool Accubake Duo" Oven won't maintain temp. Oven pre heats fine and works for 10 to 15 min. then acts like it wants to turn on to heat up to temp. and you will hear the igniter and it won't light, it will gradually cool down and it keeps trying to light every few min. it might light and then go right back off. I checked the sensors and they read 1075 ohms at room temp I purchased a new sensor and it reads the same as the old ones, room temp is 74 degrees I cleaned the oven and it seemed to fine during that operation should I just go by a new stove this one is about 6 years old?

Yes, you can fix this yourself very easily. You need a new temp. sensor. Here is the part to order. There is also a video on that same parts page to show you how to make the repair.
