Question about Sony VAIO VGC-LS21N PC Desktop
I got it from my older sister. Its full of dust and overheats all the time. The fan is always running and gets pretty loud whenever you try and do anything.
I need to vacuum the insides out. How do you get this thing open?
The power supply is the base (on a hinge). I could try removing that first and then trying to open it up. Still, there doesn't really appear to be any easy way to separate the back from the front.
Well its not that easy to dismantle it completely, however you can remove each module one by one and clean it, especially contact points wherever they may be with a piece of clean white paper(like newspaper). So cleam the ROM, Battery attachment. The fan assembly which is part of the power supply, The RAM sticks if you can locate it and then generally run the vaccum cleaner in the suction mode. Clean the keypad and ensure that no dust is trapped between the keys. Also make it a point to update all the drivers from the manufacturers website. Would'nt recommend complete dismantling but partial as stated above amd ensure that when you are using it to keep the fan area open so as to dissipate the heat quickly enough.........sodeep
