If you have windows installed you can go to "Control Panel." Select the "Device Settings" tab and click "Enable" to enable the touchpad. Click "OK" to save the changes.

How to enable touch pad

hello,

here are the steps to enable touchpad

Please, Press the "On/Off" button to turn on the touchpad. If your HP laptop does not include an "On/Off" button, press and hold the top right corner of the touchpad for five seconds and then release. A small light turns off and the touchpad icon appears briefly.

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel."

Select the "Device Settings" tab and click "Enable" to enable the touchpad. Click "OK" to save the changes.

After performing the above steps touchpad will be enable.

if the issue persists, please do not hesitate to contact.

Mouse pad stalls and i see a little red light on the mouse pad....i have a compaq laptop but not sure what version...how do i disable thi feature so i dont have to use a physical mouse

The little red light is likely from the red LED underneath your optical mouse. If the mouse cursor/pointer on the screen is jerky, it may mean the mouse pad is dirty and/or if the mouse is wireless, its battery is low and should be replaced. Most laptops have a touchpad as part of the keyboard. If you want to use that instead of a physical mouse, just put the physical mouse away and use the touchpad. Both should be active unless the touchpad was disabled. If the touchpad is disabled, you can re-enable it by clicking on control panel > mouse > device settings tab > enable button.

Hp 110 mini's mouse is stuck in place ... How to release?

If the touchpad is not working at all, it is likely not sensing your finger. To correct this issue, simply enable the touchpad by pressing the button that has an amber light.

My mousepad's scroll feature is no longer working after I took my laptop to Best Buy and had them install a new harddrive under warranty

Right above the Touchpad is the On/Off button to Enable the Touchpad, or Disable the Touchpad.

If the Touchpad light is on, then the Touchpad is Enabled. (The On light is right above the Touchpad also)

Do you have the Touchpad enabled?
