I bought a galaxy on 5 it has no sims card and says it has alerted that someone tried to reset the phone to factory without approval. I bought it from an individual, should I be concerned it is stolen

This sounds like your wi-fi may need to be setup. If your phone was factory reset then you should have had to go through a Welcome setup which should have included wi-fi setup. If it didn't or you skipped or missed it, then do another reset and try again.

hi, you can try to do factory reset,it don't make any harm to your mobile.if it doesn't work.we need to check with the sim holder,that may also cause of this problem.

Call your carrier and ask them to detach your device IMEI from the username locked in. Once that is done, hard reset without your SIM card inserted
