Transfered images appear on disk but not on camera

I've transfered some jpgs from my computer to the memory card. I can see the images on the memory card but they don't show up on the camera. When I read the memory card from a photo printer, I get a message saying that the photos can't be displayed. I've checked to make sure the images are jpgs and in a folder that the camera created when I formatted the disk.
