Question about Denon AVR-1604 Receiver
Last night everything was working just fine. I had watched TV with the receiver on and everything was fine. And then later used my ipod which played during a dinner party and everything was fine. Last night, I turned everything off - receiver, ipod and cable (dvr) box. This morning I went to turn everything on to watch tv, the tv turned on, cable box turns on, dvd player turns on but the Denon receiver, turns off runs through a couple of things and then cuts itself off. Help.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have one and the same thing happened. try resetting your microprocessor and if that does not work, then check the wiring of the speakers. if that is working fine and no wires are touching then I unplugged everything and was still having the issue. took it in for service and it was found that the transmitor was shorted as the speakers that I was using was too high in ohms. it is possible that it could be your caps also if resetting the microprocessor does not help. You can find out how to reset the microprocessor from your manual. If you have the Denon avr 887 with the system turned off hold the power on button and the speaker A and B at the same time for a few seconds. This is compatible to rebooting your computer. Hope this works for you as this was and is my husbands favorite past times.

IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO CONNECT ANALOG AUDIO IN ADDITION TO THE OPTICAL, COAXIAL OR HDMI AUDIO CONNECTION. IF USING OPTICAL OR COAXIAL CONNECTIONS BE SURE TO CONFIGURE IT IN THE RECEIVERS DIGITAL ASSIGNMENT AREA IN SETUP.
ALSO, ON THE FRONT OF THE RECEIVER IS AN INPUT MODE BUTTON, PRESS THIS BUTTON UNTIL AUTO IS DISPLAYED
