Which fan shuts down? Outside condensor fan? Or blower inside? If its the outside condensor fan motor you probably have a bad run capacitor or a bad condensor fan motor

AC blows cold air, fans stop blowing

I think you have a "variable speed resistor" problem, it's overheating. It's an electronic device usually located near or attached to the AC motor blower that controls the fan speed. This is a common problem with aging AC blowers with electronic controls.

Furnace blowing warm air, ac overheats

Sounds like it is tripping on it's high pressure switch. This could be caused by a dirty condenser coil, overcharge of refrigerant, or non condensables in the system ( air most likely). I would get a second opinion from a repuatable company, sounds like he's trying to rip you off.

I have a new Salem travel trailer with Dometic products. Everything appears to work fine, but when I run my furnace and it turns on, my fan blows from my AC unit. I have owned 2 other RV's but...

Yes it sure does sound like something may be wired wrong, Could you please reply with model number of your AC unit as well as thermostat model? To find your AC unit model number if you don't already have it, remove your ceiling air filter assembly, and it should be on the base of the roof unit, facing you.
The base of the roof (upper) unit will have a model and serial number, and if you see a control box where all the wiring attaches as well, get model number from that too if you will. Those numbers should make it easier to determine exactly where the problem is. Thanks.

Hi WFO9, It sounds as though the fan capacitor is under specs. It is probably losing its capacitance ability, they are usually rated plus or minus 5% of the value printed on the case. If however the capacitor is no longer within the rated specs. the fan motor will draw too much current and will then blow the fuse. either that or after the normal start delay built into the Ac, which is 3-4 minutes, the compressor tries to start and again draws to much current and blows the fuse. have all the capacitors checked and replaced if they dont meet the specs printed on the capacitor case. regards Col www.digitalcontrols.com.au

Cooling fans working? If you notice the air getting warm mostly while stopped, probaby cooling fans not turning on. if the fans are working properly, may be low on freon and need a recharge.

The AC blows on #4 fan setting but doesn't blow at all on 1-3

That is the blower resistor. 4 is wide open, so, no resistance. I had 4 of them put into my truck. The wires were burnt and shorted the others until the problem was found. Check the plug if you do this yourself.

Fan Stops blowing air

Isthis a window unit? It sounds like it. There could be a problem with your fan switch or the fan motor itself? Multi-speed motors can lose one speed at a time. It really sounds like the fan motor is bad. If the compressor starts in the cool mode, and the fan doesn't, the fan motor could be locked up. See, if you can spin the motor by hand? If you can, then something is bad within the motor. Now, if the motor has a capacitor, check for a loose or burned wire. Good luck.
