My maytag dryer is taking more time than usual to dry up clothing. Can anyone help identifying the problem and possible solution? Thank

you have to clean out the dryer and the vent line, unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter and then you need to remove and clean out the duct that the filter slides into, then vac out the cabinet where the motor is,go outside and check the vent, make sure it's clear, then remove the vent line from the back of the dryer,if it's a long vent line i use a leaf blower to blow out the line.also if you have a gas dryer, check it after 15 to 30 minutes to make sure the flame is still igniting,if the gas coils are bad they will fail when they heat up,when they heat up the flame doesn't lite until the coils cool down and your clothes will be warm but wet.you should clean the dryer once a year if it's gas and once every two years if it's electric, gas dryers have an open flame and the lint can catch fire easier than electric dryers,do this and your clothes will dry on time,no fires, save energy and money on your bill.good luck

Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Mdg2600bww is not ignighting, cleared ventline, turns on, just no heat

Hi,
Make sure front of dryer is not blocked, air flow is needed to dry.Check that the lint filter and exhaust duct is clean.

Check the blown fuses and home’s circuit breaker tripped. Dryer use 2 household Fuses or a circuit breakers, Replace the Fuses or reset the circuit breaker.

Another common cause of a dryer failing to heat is a faulty Heating Element. You will need to replace it.

Good Luck and have a nice day.

No heat in gas dryer, gas good, elec good??

if the heat is on when the dryer is cold then shuts down after 15 to 30 minutes and doesn't lite for a long while you have bad gas coils, the gas should come on until it hits temp. then it shuts down, when the dryer calls for heat it will turn back on,if it stays on for short periods of time you might need to clean out the dryer, this will shut the gas down to soon, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, blow out the vent line, make sure the air is blowing outside with nothing blocking it and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is

Dryer takes to long to dry

there is a lint build up either in the vent line or in the dryer, you should do a clean out on the dryer once a year so this doen't happen, unplug the dryer,go outside and make sure nothing is blocking the flapper,if it's clear go back inside and remove the vent line from the back of the dryer and blow it out if it's a long run,i use a leaf blower to do this, then remove the lint filter,if it's inside the dryer then you need to remove the front panel, take off the duct that the filter slides into and clean out the duct, also vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,if the filter is on top take off the back wall and clean the duct there, you need to still vac the inside of the dryer,if it's a gas dryer you could have bad gas coils, they fail when they heat up,you'll need to check to see if the flame is lighting after 15 to 30 minutes,if it doesn't light change out the coils sitting on top of the gas valve, hope this helps

Maytag dryer quit drying, no heat Model NO. LDE7334ACE

If the rest of the dryer is operating, make sure the exhaust is not blocked any where from the lint screen to the outlet damper outside. If it's clear then you will need a meter to diagnose further.

Dryer starts then flame goes out in about 15

Check that the lint filter is clean and that the exhaust vent is not clogged. Make sure it is clear all the way to the outlet. If no vent obstruction then the gas valve coils probably need to be replaced.

Will not heat

glow bar igniter ... - thermal fuse ( not all models ) ... - coil on the gas valve ... - gas valve ... - thermostats ... - motor heat switch ... - timer ... - selector switch ... - sensor ... All these will cause this problem.

Maytag gas dryer taking too long to dry clothes

Not too familliar with the gas temp either, but you should definitely take your lint filter out and clean it with soap and water. If you use dryer sheets, they can leave a clear film on your filter and it can be just as bad as a filter full of lint. Try this out, if it works, clean your filter periodically with soap and water to remove the chemical buildup.
