That is a sure indication of a failure in the power supply board. The problem is that Viewsonic used two different power supply boards in the va1703wb model. If you want to do the repair yourself you should be able to. If you can open the unit and send a picture of the power supply board to us at [email protected] we would be glad to show you what parts need to be replaced to rebuild the board and get it back up and running.

That means the PC video resolution got changed some how in the PC.

This model is also know to have bad DC filter caps which more likley to go bad soon.

When power suddenly goes off from the main source, it tends to damage a component or the other inside a unit, because it was sudden and the unit did not go through a proper shut down process.

If your unit does not come on, and there is no sign that power is coming in, then it means there is a power problem, because there is no power supplied to the unit.

First try to plug the television to another another power outlet to see if it works, then try using another power cord, after doing that, also try to plug the cord to you HDMI port, if it does not come on still, then it means the power panel is faulty and needs to be replaced.

My VX924 did the same thing but now displays nothing and power switch light just blinks. According to an answer listed on previous page, it may have bad capacitors. I may have to take a look at them. Viewsonic repair facility examination of this monitor runs $70.

The reason I ask you to hook up the viewsonic directly to the PC is to find out if the problem is in the USB adapter or in the monitor itself, you can also try your Viewsonic with other computer.
Basically just have the PC, VIEWSONIC, NO USB or the monitor. We need to narrow down the problem.

Sounds like the buttons or the button panel are messed up. Or it has gotten moisture in it.

The only time i have seen this was when one of the buttons were malfunctioning, and we ended up replacing the monitor.

There is a button lock in the menu of the television. Using your remote access the menu screen and unlock the buttons.
