I removed the agitator and plastic nut, and the 4 bolts inside the tub. now I see a nut? with 8 tabs on it. try turning both ways no luck. thanks for the help.

You need a 1/4" nut driver and a spanner wrench-start by taking 1/4" screw located toward lower part of agitator, its recessed, take it out, then lift out agitator, then mark where your drum is so you get replaced in that location(counter-weights)then take spanner wrench and loosen nut that holds the wash tub and lift out tub, turn tub over and w/rubber mallet driveout old seal,to aid in new seal install lightly lube with vegetable oil(wessonoil-pam cooking spray) and tap seal into place and re-install in reverse order

Do you mean the Boot Seal assembly and Tub bearing were replaced?????
Who did the replacement? Does your machine have a plastic tub cover with some 8 or so tabs that lock it onto the tub?? The gasket may be warped or the tabs are not locked in the right place.
If it has a metal tub cover then probably the rubber gasket is twisted and not seating properly between the tub and the cover.

We have a Maytag top-loader model A482 which is probably 25 years old. I found water on the floor under the machine when the last load finished washing. What's the first place to look for the leak? I'm...

The most common thing that will cause a leak is the tub seal. If the tub seal is leaking water will be comming from the center of the tub where the transmission meets the tub. This page will show how to replace the seal. http://appliance-repair-it.com/Maytag-tub-seal.html

There is also an air-gap that will often leak. If this is the case the water will be comming from the left hand side at the top. The air-gap is in line with the water inlet. This page will tell more http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/Maytag-washer-leaking.html

If they are not the problem you will have to look for a leaking hose or something to that nature.

Makes loud noise in spin cycle

The problem is that the seals are leaking and allowing water to attack the tub bearings.
You need new tub seals and bearings.....not as difficult as it may seem.
see u tube video on replacing maytag seals and bearings

Maytag Dependable LAT8824AAE. Main tub seal leaks

The part number for the mounting stem and seal kit is 6-2095720 it cost about 85 bucks retail. You will also need to buy a special maytag spanner wrench to remove the inner tub. Its NOT an easy job the inner and outer tubs and hoses all need to be removed. The seal kit comes with no instructions. If you had a service company do the job it would be probably around 250 maybe more. We charge 104.95 labor for the job. Good luck _MJ_

Maytag A806 washing machine leaking from the center, under the tub

The tub seal is bad.
I had the same issue on another model.
You can attempt to repair this yourself. I suggest that you do a search on Youtube to see if this is a job you want to take on. It took me 2 hours to change mine. The seal kit and tools are sold online.
Good luck.
