Drive belt replacement.

My drive belt has snapped. Can somebody please advise on the correct/easiest way to replace it. Access seems to be the main problem; should the repair be from the top, bottom or do I need to dismantle the casing at all. Many thanks.

If there is no rear access panel, then it is normally a cabinet off job, but it can be done from the top,
Lean the m/c towards you and with a bit of manipulation, you can actually fit the belt this way, it is awkward, but can be done.

My mother has an old 11.5 HP Cox Stockman. Just today, the main drive belt has become coming off, (3 times in a row so far) Please advise possible problem and solution. Thanks.

It is possible the belt is not correctly tensioned or perhaps the belt is in poor condition.

Sometimes pulleys can move along a shaft a little so they are not correctly aligned. Checking pulley alignment with a straight edge is an important part of fault-finding and maintenance of vee belt and pulley systems. Once the alignment is found to be correct a belt of the correct type is fitted and correctly tensioned the troubles should be at an end.

Drive belt requires to be replaced. Have got correct one, however, seems too tight to fit round wheel and pulley. Access is only through top of machine so this does not help. Is there a tool or technique...

The motor has a tension bolt that you need to loosen befor you can fit the belt. once the belt is fitted you can retention the motor.

I just replaced the drive belt on my Troy built auto transmission Bronco 42" riding mower, and now it goes a lot slower. The belt seems to be routed correctly

The bronco is a variable speed mower from what I remember. There is a belt that goes from the crankshaft to a variable speed pulley and another belt from the variable to the transmission. If your 1st belt is too long it will never get up to speed. Do you have to push the pedal down further now than before to get it to move. ? If so your main belt is too long.

Instructions to replace drive belt on toro model14ap80rp744 and daigramn

Hi. Here's the procedure on how to replace the belt. Sad to say i dont have a diagram for that. Please see below instructions.

The mower should be drained of gas and drain the motor oil before starting procedure.
Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug.
Motor side of the belt:
Remove two bolts under the lawn mower body which holds the top cover over the drive belt.
Remove the belt guard that is around the pulley on the crank shaft.
Then work the belt around the blade and off the the drive pulley.
While blade is removed, sharpen or replace as necessary.
Transmission side of the belt:

Remove the "S" clip on handle for speed / traction cable
Remove the plastic "Rear Baffle" two screws on each side on frame in front of rear wheels one screw in the rear

With the baffle removed, rotate the drive shaft and transmission to gain access
to the pulley drive belt guard, it is held in place with three screws.
Once belt guard is removed, you can easily remove the drive belt

Reverse procedure to replace the belt.
Lubricate drive Axel bearings, wheel bearings, control cables, as necessary.
Replace all fluids as necessary.

Reebok treadmill

Hi James
Unplug unit remove motor shroud then plug unit back in , press start and begin walking on the belt normally and try to stall the belt to make it slip ( planting foot to stop the belt).
Be careful during this test. If the problem is in the drive belt, either the drive belt will stop when stalled or the front roller will stop when stalled. Here is the procedure for adjusting the drive belt.
Find the motor mounts. Many motors in Icon treadmills have a main pivot joint in which a bolt runs the full length of the motor mount. This bolt will require loosening to provide maximum adjustability. Some models have a single jack bolt and others have an auto tensioner. Single jack bolts are the easiest to adjust.
Find the set bolt(s) on the motor. This is typically run through only one side of the motor mount or may be on both sides but it does not run the full length of the mounting. Loosen this bolt(s) but do not remove. Jack bolt models will have flat mounts and may contain up to four bolts.
Look for a bolt that will tension the motor. If it has this bolt, it typically runs in the same direction parallel with the drive and walking belts. If your treadmill is not equipped with this bolt, skip to Step 4. If your treadmill is equipped with this bolt (very few are) the repair will only require one person. Using 2 7/16" wrenches, make a few turns to this bolt, tighten the bolts and test your treadmill for slipping. If belt continues to slip, and if their is too much tension ( you should be able comfortably twist the drive belt 90 degrees ) then replace drive belt.
If the motor, drive belt, and front roller continue to turn when the walking belt is stalled, the problem is with the walking belt slipping on the front roller, here the procedure adjusting the walking belt.
If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the allen wrench, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 3 to 4 inches off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened
If the drive belt continues to turn but the front roller stalls, you may have a broken front roller pulley. If this is the problem, you will notice it because the plastic will usually make a loud squealing sound on the metal front roller. The front roller assembly will need to be replaced and the drive belt must be replaced also. We suggest replacing the drive belt as well because it is a low cost item and will most likely, have suffered unusual wear from the problem. Another possibility is that the drive belt has worn down. In some cases, belt dressing may help correct the problem. If not, the drive belt must be replaced.

I was washing and when my machine was spinning there like a loud snap and now sounds like something in the drum. What could this be and what can I do that I do not want a repair man

it sounds like the drive belt on the unit snapped probably due to either wear or binding due to heat stress, the belt should be accesible by removing the rear access cover whereby you can see the rear drive pulley that the belt fits around and below on the bottom plate is the motor where the belt gets main drive from.

If this answers your question and helps with the issue please rate the answer accordingly.

Drive belt replacement on a Miele T230C tumble dryer

You must route the belt either in front of or slip it behind the drum to get it down to the drive wheel. You should remove the front panel to be able to do this the best.
