I believe there is a t20 trox screw holding the clutch cover on. Look down the hole where the drive shaft would insert. After you get that off, the clutch itself needs to be pulled off of the shaft. DO NOT BEAT ON THE END OF THE SHAFT. You may need a small puller to get it off.

Before you check the coil itsef, make sure the wires going to the kill switch are not grounded the the body. They take the spark to chassis ground when you push the kill switch.

Coils in my new aircondition system are corroding and test tell me that it is sulfur dioxide this a new home with out anyone living in it....could it be bad copper????there is a crematory real close????

I doubt that it is bad copper. It could be outgassing from the crematorium. you can get a coil cleaner spray, but that doesn't explain what caused it in the first place.

Looking for repair manual or help with problem

ok,there are 3 safety switches,(i have the same mower,i bought for 50 bucks because they couldnt start it),a seat switch in case you fall off,a brake/clutch switch,so you have to step on it to start and a deck switch,so if your deck is engaged,it wont start,if you can guarantee that you wont fall off or screw around and get your foot cut off,i will tell you how to bypass the safety switches,
pull the cover off the motor, see the single small black wire connected to the coil?not the spark plug cable, pull that wire off of the coil, now, find a switch that you can use for a shut off, connect a wire to the coil and run it to your dash, connect another wire to ground, connect each of them to either side of the switch, you will use that to stop the motor, put the cover back on,sit in seat, push in clutch and start your careful, there are no safety switches now, dont go up a hill sideways you will get killed if it rolls on you.

Troy bilt tiller th-1002 Has no spark.

Couple of things. First thing I would do is take the wires off the back of the kill switch and the check for spark, I've seen a few bad switch's. If you still have no spark then the coil is next, getting to it can not be to easy you'll have to remove the shaft then the front of the engine housing next remove the clutch cover. What I do to remove these clutch cover is remove the spark plug and take a piece of 5/16 rope about 6 in. long and put about 3 in. of it down the spark plug hole pull the starter cord slowly till the piston come up to the rope and stops the engine from tuning. This way you can take a T-20 star driver and reach inside of the hole on the clutch cover and loosen the screw that holds the clutch cover on. (Leave the rope in the spark plug hole) Under the cover you'll find the clutch it's self, it's going to have the word off and a arrow stamped it. I take a brass drift and hammer to unscrew it but have used channel locks. Then remove the 4 screws holding the housing to the engine under all this you'll find the flywheel and coil. Some time you'll find the magnet's on the flywheel rusty and need to be cleaned with sand paper, or the pickups on the coil that reads the magnets dirty. But the only way to check and see if either of these helped you have to put everything back together and try it. So after doing all this work to get there its usually better to replace the coil with a known good one and then put it back together. Good Luck to ya.

How do i adjust clutch cover?

Question makes no sense. To remove or attach the clutch cover, the chain brake must be released. Period.
Failing that, you're going to wrestle, and lose, with the brake band. For whatever other bits you want to muck with, download an IPL (illustrated parts list) and see how the bits interrelate.

Clutch adjuster threads in primary cover very worn

Anything that works is acceptable. Instead of helicoils, I'd prefer to use either a Timesert or a Keensert. They are available in various lengths. The longer the better of course, but these things are made of steel and don't wear if they get loose. That's what wears the threads in most of the Sporty primary covers, the adjuster was run loose and vibration wears the threads. If you know a good welder, that's the way to go.

Good luck

No manule too tell me about changing o ring at

Right out of the manual

1.Remove the clutch inspection cover screws and remove the cover.

Note: When removing the clutch inspection cover, work carefully to avoid removing or damaging the quad ring in the primary cover. (the quad ring is the o-ring made of square material that seals the cover)

2.Remove the spring and lockplate.

3.Turn the clutch adjusting screw clockwise and release the ramp and coupling mechanism.

4. Turn the clutch adjusting screw clockwise to move the ramp assembly forward. Then unscrew the nut from the end of the adjusting screw and remove it.

5. Pivot the hook on the ramp to the rear of the cable end coupling. Then disconnect and remove the clutch cable from the coupling slot.

6.Turn the clutch cable counterclockwise and remove it from the primary cover.

7. Remove the O-ring from the lower end of the cable.

Lawn mower troubles

You must first remove the cover assembly which houses the starter pulley. Pull the old rope completely out until it no longer moves. Hold the starter pulley and remove the old rope. Try to wind the starter pulley spring tighter if possible. DON'T LET GO. The starter rewind spring must be wound before installing the new rope. After winding the spring, thread the new rope through the cover and into the hole in the pulley. Tie a good knot in the end and let the rope wind slowly into the housing. Once you have this done, replace the cover, get the proper length of rope, thread it through the handle, tie a knot in this end and your ready to go.

RM 250 Clutch noise 1986 (Yes an old girl I know)

The clutch has two different types of needle bearings. One flat thrust bearing about 1" diameter and one caged needle bearing. The most likely culprit is the thrust bearing. This is a 5 to 10 dollar bearing and easy to replace if you have an impact driver to loosen the right case cover screws. Drain the oil, remove the right case cover then the clutch end plate. The bearing is there, and will probably come off with the plate.
