have a lg kg800, just got sim card for it yesterday. inserted sim card and it turned on emergency mode, now it says insert sim card and it is.

does it say
insert sim
or
insert correct sim?

brought a lg kg800 chocolate from my friend, he got it in Australia, i inserted my sim card in it . i'm in New Zealand it was working however unable to send texts or calls. Now it has lock me out, saying insert usim card and only emergency call.
