SOURCE: no water is going onto the ice maker (Maytag Model # MZD2766gew)

the water solenoid valve is normally triggered by the ice maker itself. as it turn to harvest the ice, it should trigger the water solenoid valve to start another cycle of ice making. its either a wire harness problem that's why power is not getting to the valve or the triggering switch of the ice maker not sending power to the solenoid. i hope i was able to help you guys...

SOURCE: Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.

Mss25c4mgz00 no water in icemaker

If your MSS25C4MGZ00 Maytag refrigerator's icemaker is not getting water, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the problem:
  1. Check the water supply: Make sure that the water supply valve to the refrigerator is fully open and not restricted. Also, check that the water supply line is not kinked or frozen.
  2. Check the water filter: A clogged water filter can restrict the flow of water to the ice maker. Replace the water filter with a new one and check if the icemaker starts working.
  3. Check the water inlet valve: The water inlet valve controls the flow of water to the ice maker. If the valve is defective, it may not open to allow water to flow to the ice maker. You can check the valve for continuity with a multimeter, if there is no continuity the valve needs to be replaced.
  4. Check the icemaker control module: The icemaker control module controls the operation of the ice maker. If the module is defective, the icemaker will not function. Check the continuity of the module with a multimeter, if there is no continuity the module needs to be replaced.
  5. Check the water pressure: Ensure that the water pressure to the refrigerator is between 20-120 psi. If the water pressure is too low, the water valve may not open to allow water to flow to the ice maker.
If you are not comfortable working on your own, it is recommended to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and fix the problem. It is important to note that troubleshooting and repairing a refrigerator can be dangerous, so it's important to follow safety precautions and make sure you are familiar with the appliance before attempting to fix it yourself.

Maytag freezer wont produce ice

You have two sides to the water control valve. One side is for the water coming from fountain and the second side is to refill your ice maker after each cycle of dumping ice into the ice bin. The freezer should be a 5 degrees or below for the ice maker to function properly. If the ice maker is empty then fill with tap water up to top edge of the ice maker and allow to freeze. If after the water freezes and dumps the ice into the ice bin the ice maker does not refill I would recommend replacing part=> 67006009 Dual Water Control Valve
or here=> 67006009 Dual Water Control Valve
If the ice maker has old ice inside and does not want to dump itself it will be considered defective and the ice maker core moduel will need be replaced=> W10190972 Ice Maker Assembly

My ice maker runs extra water out and creates a big block of ice in the ice drawer. what is causing this to happen?

There is a water valve at the back of the ice maker. This valve controls the flow of water in the ice maker chamber. If this valve is not functioning as required then more water will enter the ice maker and this water freezes and big block of ice gets formed. This valve is at the back of ice maker connected to the water fill tube.It has to be replaced to clear this problem.

You can get required parts from sears part direct online site or from repairclinic.com site.

No water going to the ice maker

You could have either the ice maker causing this or the side of the water control valve that feeds the ice maker is defective. Here is a simple test to see which is causing the problem. Fill ice maker with tap water. If after the water freezes the cubes drop into the ice bin then the water does not refill it will need the dual water control valve replaced. If ice just sits there then the ice maker needs to be fixed or replaced depending on your Maytags model number. Let me know the model number and results, Thanks, Sea Breeze

My ice maker quit working when I replaced the water filter.

Your model Maytag comes with an electronic ice maker and if you just recently changed the water filter the water should be dispensed for 2 or 3 minutes or until any air that may be trapped in the lines is removed. If air is sill present in the filter the ice maker opens the water control valve for about 7.5 seconds. If air that is what the ice maker will get until the air is completely purged from the system. If you fill that you have past that point then pour tap water into the ice maker and let freeze. After the water freezes the ice maker should cycle and dump. If not the the ice maker core may need replaced. If yes it dumps then the air may not yet purged or the water control valve for the ice maker side may be defective. This is one of those wait and see repairs. I will send you a link to the copy of the service manual and page 71 begins addressing the ice maker. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Maytag msd2669kea01will not make ice

Most like the water control valve on rear of refrigerator that controls the water to the ice maker has failed. Fill the ice maker with water and see if the ice maker will freeze and dump cubes. If yes water valve if no the ice maker. Rate me, I will need to hear back from you because I would like to know if this will get you going. I will send you a service manual and part numbers providing the model you have listed is correct. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Maytag ice2o won't make ice

theharrisont,  You state that...." ice maker stopped working after it flooded our kitchen floor."  The water works because the water fountain dispenser uses a separate part of the Water Valve. The ice maker portion of the water valve is defected and the entire Water Valve Assembly will have to be replaced.  Your problem is the dual Water Valve Assembly which is located on the rear bottom area of the refrigerator (follow the water inlet line from the wall to the refrigerator...the water inlet line connects to the Water Valve Assembly).  The significant info which you provided was that the ice maker flooded the kitchen which indicates the Water Valve Assembly is defected. Failure to replace the Water Valve Assembly will result in the same problem of flooding at some later date.  Replacing the dual Water Valve Assembly is just one step of several steps necessary to correct the problem.  You will also have to temporarily remove the ice maker from the freezer (usually a couple of screws hold it to the wall and a quick disconnect electrical plug) and put it in the sink and run warm water over to remove any ice.  Before you reinstall the ice maker you must check the Water Fill Tube that dumps the water into the ice maker.  Because you said that the ice maker flooded the kitchen, then the Water Fill Tube is probably filled solid with ice which must be removed.  A hair dryer is a quick way to achieve this.  Blow hot air directly into the end of the Water Fill Tube which dumps the water into the ice maker.  Note:  Use a long screw driver to insert into the Water Fill Tube to break loose any ice and continue to use the hair dryer to help to remove any ice. This should correct your problem
