Question about SanDisk Sansa c200 MP3 Player

Sansa MP3 player. sutting down by just displaying sandisk

When i connect to my PC it gets charge by displaying. thats ok, BUT when i power ON it just displays sandisk and shut OFF. no more functions again after 20 Seconds again if i ON same as above.....

Well there is some problem with power supply and u should read the menual and please get it check by an expert.

Use SanDisk MP3 Players
SanDisk is an electronic device manufacturer that creates various types of MP3 players under the SanDisk Sansa product line.
The SanDisk MP3 players range in storage capacity, starting at 512mb, and are intended to operate on the Windows operating system.
Most SanDisk MP3 players also include a built-in video player with a color screen, an FM radio tuner, and a memory flash card slot to expand the MP3 player's storage capacity.
Use SanDisk MP3 players to take your computer's MP3 library with you and listen to music wherever you go.

1. Verify that your computer meets the operating specifications required to sync the SanDisk MP3 player with the PC.
All SanDisk MP3 players require Windows XP or later; Windows Media Player; and a USB 1.0 port. A USB 2.0 is important if you want high-speed music syncing.
2, Check that the SanDisk MP3 player has a full battery charge.
All SanDisk MP3 players have a rechargeable lithium ion battery, and some SanDisk devices have a replaceable battery.
The battery icon on the top right-hand side of the SanDisk MP3 player's screen displays the current status of the battery's charge.
If the battery is low, recharge it before using the SanDisk player for the first time.
To charge, connect the player to your computer's powered USB port using the included USB cable.
The SanDisk player's screen will display a yellow charging icon.

Hi,love to help out, but can not know exactly what happened to the mp3 player before it went off, so am going to give you steps to troubleshoot your mp3 player..

Power Problems

Try recharging the battery if the MP3 player is not turning on. To recharge the battery, connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the MP3 player and the other end to an open USB port on your computer. The Sandisk MP3 player will begin charging.
Try turning the player back on. If it does not turn on, perform a reset. To do this, press and hold the "Power/Menu" button for at least 15 seconds.

Turn the player back on.


Press the "Menu" button if the player keeps turning off periodically. Select the "Settings" option in the Menu and select "Power."


Select "Auto Power Off" and turn off the sleep settings.
Play and Display Problems


Connect your Sandisk to the computer. The computer will automatically recognize it as a new device.


Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop. You will see your MP3 player's icon listed as a removal disk together with other removal devices.


Double-click the MP3 player's icon. Double-click the "Music" folder. You will see all the songs uploaded on your player. Right-click the music file that is not playing and click "Properties." In the "Properties" window, you should see which format the music file is in. If it is not an MP3, WMA or WAV, it will not play. Only upload music files of these formats.

Right-click a music file that displays "Unknown artist/album" and click "Properties." Click the "Summary" tab and click "Advanced." Input the data you want, such as the song title, album, artist and year. Click "OK" to save the changes.

My sandisk sansa clip 1gb wont turn on


Make sure the player is fully charged. 1. Connect the player to the PC. 2. Make sure the computer detects the player.
NOTE: If needed, switch the player to MSC mode, 1. Turn device OFF. 2. Slide the Hold switch down to Lock (orange color showing). 3. Press and hold the center button while connecting the device to the PC.then connect it to the PC. Next Be sure the battery is charged 1. Leave the player connected for approximately 2 hours to charge. 2. Disconnect the player from the PC. 3. Verify if you can turn on the player. 4. Reset the player if necessary.
To reset the player: 1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds. 2. Release the Power/Menu button. 3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.
If that does not do it, re-seat the battery: Here is how to get to the battery, 1. Press the battery compartment in while sliding to the right. 2. Remove old battery. 3. Insert new battery or reset the old battery. 4. Close the battery compartment. Then try and see if it will come on with out the battery hooked to your computer. 1. Remove the battery. 2. Connect the player to the PC to verify if it turns on. 3. Re-seat the battery to ensure proper connection. 4. Verify if the player turns on.

Sandisk Express will not turn on.


Ensure that the player has been charged.

Try to power reset the device by simultaneously pressing and holding the center and volume up button, while connecting it to the PC.

If power reset fails, charge the device for at least two and a half hours. The computer should not be in sleep or hibernation state while charging.

Make sure to update firmware by downloading and installing the Sansa Firmware Updater.

Sansa Connect No-Wifi Recovery Tool
Make sure your Sansa Connect player is charged and the HOLD switch is in the unlocked position. Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds, then release it. This will force the Sansa connect player to reset and restart.

If your player still will not start after trying the reset, you may need to run the Sansa Connect Recovery application.

With a copy of the Sansa Connect Recovery application installed on a PC, you can connect your to the device via the USB cable to the PC, and restore the device software to an uncorrupted state.

However, all of your subscription settings and content will be removed from the device.

STEP 1 - Download and install the recovery tool.

STEP 2 - Put your Sansa Connect player in Recovery Mode
1. Press and hold the Power button for approximately 8 seconds to turn off the player.
2. While holding down the Right button, and Volume Up Button,
press-and-release the Power button. Keep holding the Right and Volume Up button. After a few seconds, the player will start and a Recovery Needed message will on the player's screen.
3. Connect the player to a PC.
4. A SanDisk Device Recovery dialog box will appear on your PC. Choose Recover Sansa Device and click OK.
5. Follow the steps in the SanDisk Device Recovery application.

First, make sure the hold switch is not engaged
If it is not engaged, go to Sanidsk's website and get the firmware upgrade for the Sansa Connect - it will have the side effect of returning your player to normal (Support --> Sansa Players --> Downloads/Software/Drivers)

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

You MAY have a power glich. In which case, hold the power/menu botton down for 20 seconds or more, then connect it to the computer.It's best if you use a USB input that's NOT part of a Multi-USB base, as those DO cause power gliches.

SanDisk, 2 GB Sansa mp3 player won't charge


I was having the same problem with my Sansa e250. My wife has the e200, and we didn't have any problems with that. I saw that someone on here suggested to lock the mp3 player with the tiny metal switch on top, so I did, and the battery charging icon on the bottom of the screen came on and stayed on, and the mp3 player worked. thanks!
Because of this I would suggest checking to see if it's locked or unlocked and then change it to charge it.
