I purchased a new fan motor for my Ecoquest air purifier yet it will turn a little bit but won't keep turning. What is wrong?

I think that there might be a problem with Start or Run Capacitors in the motor circuit. You may need an electrician to look into it.

Start and Run Capacitors are used to shift phase of current/ voltage in the windings of the motor. Thus giving torque to get the motor rotating or sustain rotation of the motor.

SOURCE: Ecoquest Flair Air Purifier leaves black residue on walls and...

Hi there,

The black residue is what is in your air. The reason for it to cling to the walls is the Ionization process that the machine creates. The ionization is to create a clean breathing space, free from contaminants. All particles floating in the air will be negatively charged and cling to each other or to objects in the room (like walls) that are positively charged.

If you cook, there is some smoke created, or when you burn candles. These greasy particles will stick to the wall or to surfaces. Cleaning them up regularly might help. You can also try another product from EcoQuest called EcoH which is based on enzymes and cut through that grime easily. That might take the black stuff off the walls.

SOURCE: Ecoquest Fresh Air Air Purifier turning itself off and on rapidly

There is a problem with the main circuit board. Ecoquest will replace the circuit board. If the Fresh Air is still under warranty you have to pay shipping. If it is not under warranty, you'll have to pay all of the repair cost. You'll need to call to get an RMA number before you send it in, either way.

The fan is in a sealed ball-bearing housing, so there's no way to oil it.
If the fan is burned out, it will need to be replaced. You can call Vollara (the new name for EcoQuest) customer service 800-989-2299 and they'll tell you what to do. If the machine is still under warranty, there will be no charge except for shipping it to the company.
Hope this helps.

Need new fan in EcoQuest Breeze AT

Don't know where you are on the planet but if in the US, look for Johnstone Supply to see if there is one near you.
If so, remove the fan motor and take it with you to their outlet. If as experienced as those I have dealt with there, they should be able to find one compatible with your machine.
Johnstone sells mostly to tradespeople but have never been turned away and their prices beat dealer's always.

Do I need a new fan blade if I replace the fan or will the old one go back on fairly easy? Ecoquest fresh air

If you need to replace the fan motor, the fan blade can be removed by grasphing the center hub of the fan and pull the fan straight out of the purifier. I remove it every time I clean my machine, since it easy to clean it once it is removed.

Fan trouble with Flair

remove the retaining screw from the bottom of the unit and slide the insides out the back. use WD40 with the plastic extension tube, spray into the motor armature/stator and turn with your hand until it is free spinning then reassemble and turn on.
this is an ongoing problem with my unit because the air and all contaminents are pulled directly to the fan.

My Fan on My Flair purifier is not turning when I turn on the unit. Nervous about poking around in there don't want to break it, any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

To fix it..........there is one screw on the unit on the outside.........really long!.......remove that and the entire unit just slides out of the housing..........

The replacement fan motor can be purchased on ebay....ranging from $21.95 to $32.95...depending on the model Flair that you have...the most common one is the $29.95 replacement...

Really quite simple to remove and replace!!! and well worth it!

Hope this helps.

Fan is not turning on

The fan motor is probably locked up. You can either put a little oil to free it up (usually a temporary fix) or better yet replace the fan motor.
