Please give us more information on what results are you getting. Is the machine running, the needles stitching, the loopers moving, the knife working? Is it not chaining? Exactly, what is it doing that it shouldn't, or what is it not doing that it should?

If the machine is not working at all, perhaps the door is not latched properly. There is a safety mechanism that will not allow the machine to run unless it is latched.

I have a baby lock 5380E & can't seem to thread it correctly to make it stitch properly. Please help! I know it has to do with threading the upper & lower loopers correctly,

Hopefully you have the manual. It helps to use 4 different colors of thread so you'll be able to differentiate which thread is presenting a problem.

Just thread each thread as though it were the only one, like a sewing machine. Make sure you thread each in the proper order or it will most likely never work. AND ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading and give each thread an extra little tug when going through the tension disk so the thread will seat completely.

Set the tension disks to the midway point, so they are all set about the same. Then test.

If something goes haywire, just bite the bullet, remove ALL the threads and start over threading from the beginning. Believe me, it very seldom works to try to re-thread only one thread...

It took me an entire day to get my new-used serger threaded properly. So don't despair... You might look around for a beginning serger class.

Babylock serger 5260d

Make sure the loopers underneath are not broken. Are the needles
put in correct? One is suppose to be down and little more than the other- if you have them the same length that is your problem-

Left needle on baby lock serger "imagine" skips

Change needles if they have done a few hours. Ales use ballpoint if seaming stretch fabrics. Also you can get EL 705 needles, which have a longer scarf (groove at back) which helps with the loopers catching the needle thread. Or SUK is the stretch type with this longer scarf Also if you are using cheaper thread cones, try a better quality with smoother finish and consistent weight, this will help too. However if this doesn't resolve issue, your looper timing might need adjustment.

Need basic settings for Baby Lock BL450 Serger. Any idea where I can get it?? My book was lost. The threads don't wrap around the edge of the fabric. I've re-loaded 3 times following the diagram on...

Hi GailKelley,
I have the same model serger. I will make a copy of the stitches and figure out how to get it to you. I recently took my serger out of storage to start some projects. I always struggle threading it but love the look of the stitches when it is set up correctly. Be in touch. MnFriend

I don't have a manual for my Baby lock Pro line model # BL4-738 NS. It was given to me and I have threaded it accordingly to the diagram on the machine but it won't pick up the stitch.

You will have to order the manual from a Baby Lock dealer.

This model may have to be threaded in a certain order.

Try raising the presser foot and setting the tensions to zero.

Turn the handwheel so the upper looper (the curved one) is at it's highest position - there may be a mark on the side of the serger where you align the handwheel for this.

Thread the upper looper and then the lower looper and then the needles.

Pull the threads under the presser foot and toward the side of the serger.

Set the tensions back to 4 - 6, lower the presser foot.

Hold onto the thread tails and gently press the power pedal to begin a thread chain before serging fabric.
