It isn't. Only things you can upgrade for laptop is Random Access Memory (RAM), and Hard Disk Drive (HDD). Alternatively it would be possible to change the Central Processor Unit (CPU) of the same chipset only, the Wireless and/or Bluetooth modems are also replacable, but that's about it. Graphics and audio cards are integrated to the main circuit board.

DRVER CRASHED LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER INTALLING LATEST VERSION OF DRIVERS [NVADIA GEFORCE 8500GT] 512MB

Did you try to play games for a long time, with the stock cooler.
i'm amazed about all the gammer which are still using stockcooling and the teperature stays warm for 5 hours. And if i say they need to watercool it, just like you cpu and memory, because high temps degrease 1. the lifespan of your gear ( especially mb with cheap capacitors) enemoursly, but they overclock the graphiccard at the same time , while the effectivity decreases , caused by too warm components, they want also higher ratings from the card by overclocking. That's why i never by second hand cards or mb's or cpu's. Does the card still work; if not, does it smell burning? and did it broke, while gaming?????

It is possible that your VGA is malfunctioning. But you will notice it when the screen resolution is set to a specific resolution and color depth.
Games play at it's own resolution. Not at the resolution you set for Windows. Probably WoW is setting the screen resolution and color depth to a values at which the VGA fail.
Did you try changing the screen resolution in WoW options? If not try it. Also try changing color depth.
Also, download GPUZ and check your VGA.
Best of luck!

My video card fried, bought a new one, plugged it in, monitor display

Possible reasons:

> The newly bought GCard not compatable with the motherboard (Check for PCI-E/AGP logo on your Gard box and see if your motherboard supports the same.)

>There might be issues with the your SMPS (Damaged/Over current supply/Current Fluctuations, possible cause for getting a fried video card you mentioned.)

See if this helps.

Severe lag problems when playing wow I have a dell dimension 3000 and recently started playing WOW. The min. system requirements are 512 + RAM and my specs show I have 510. I have very limited knowledge of...

Although your computer has usually an Intel Pentium 4 chip installed, your memory of 512MB is really the absolute minimum. Depending of your Operating System (WinXP or Vista), you give WOW very little to work with. The 512MB minimum requirement for WOW means, that it would not even load/start if you had less.

My advice is to upgrade your memory to at least 1GB, to give your game more "breathing room". You can order the memory needed directly from Dell (here) or from another supplier like Crucial (here). Just check for the best price.

You did not mention if you have a separate graphics card installed. You onboard graphic chip is a "Integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2". If you look at the WOW support page (here), you can find all supported (and unsupported) video cards. You might want to consider to invest into a better graphic card (like this one), if you want to keep playing WOW.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Monitor is blank

No.. If this is a video adapter issue, you'll still be having a blank screen and not 'check cable' signal. This might be some internal issue with your monitor. You don't you try connecting it to your laptop (if you have) or your friends' comp. And open the CPU cover and see if the graphics card is proper by giving it a through look. Look if the graphics card fan spins. If it doesn't have a fan, switch off the pc. open the cover remove the gcard from its port carefully and then inspect if for any burnout of loose parts.

If your gcard is fine, i suggest you give your monitor for service..
