It has to completely thaw first. If indoor fan is running and the filter is clean it is freezing up because of a lack of refrigerant .

Have you checked the freon level in this unit? If you are low or there is a leak it could be the problem. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: pipes frozen

zShut the unit off and let the ice melt.Just before that specific coil, you should see a valve with a itty ***** tube coming out of it. Follow that tiny tube and it should have a sensing bulb on its end clamped to the outlet tube of that coil. Make sure it is clamped prperly and there is insulation around it and and bare tubing before and after the bulb.If that bulb senses hot air itwill tell the valve to do thingds it shouldn't do. So, ck that out and let me know how it goes. Good luck-Ned_ Thanks for using fixya.com

SOURCE: 38cks is blowing air but it's not cooling

First thing, are the filters clean? If so then you have lost some gas from the system and need to find and repair the leak, and put in correct gas charge.

My fujitsu a/c unit is not cooling anymore (or much less than in the past). The filters are clean but one of the conduction to the outdoor unit is frozen. do i have to clean the outdoor unit ?

If the small pipe is frozen then the unit is short of refrigerant and has a leak. If the large pipe is frozen it has an indoor fan issue. It does not need cleaning just a service.

Goodman Model CK60-1C with White Rogers mercury tube thermostat

The contactor on the outside unit is sticking and must be replaced. The inside unit cycles off and the outside continues to run causing the refrigerant lines to freeze up.

Outside makes loud noise

I would take a very close look at every solder joint there is between the inside unit and the outside. If you observe oil at any point it indicates a leak at that point. That is an expensive price for what you say was done. Check your invoice for the amount of refrigerant they or he added to the system. Compare it with the amount stated on the outside unit nameplate. Check for frost on the suction (big line) by the outside unit. If there is frost your coil is frozen up. If this is the case turn the fan on and the cooling off. Allow it to run in this manor for about an hour to defrost the A coil. Then return to the cooling mode.

AIR CONDITIONER

Do you have any frost on the lines going to the outside unit. If the large line is frosted your evaporator (Cooling coil in the furnace) could be frozen up. Operating it with the fan in automatic with the cooling on will sometimes be the cause of this condition.

If there is not frost on the large line going to the outside unit and you are getting air circulation inside the house the problem could be a loss of refrigerant charge. Look at the joints where the pipes were soldered to the inside and outside units for signs of oil. If you find oil at any point it is the indication of a refrigerant leak.

I have a Kenmore model # phjk048-1 heating and AC unit with iced up coils.

Test run the unit, if still icing coil is present it means that the unit is under charge, need to add refrigerant but first be sure that no leaking pipe so leak test the piping.
