Always turn the handwheel towards you. There may be an arrow on the side. (Looking from the right it should go counter-clockwise)

Unthread the needles.

Make sure that the needles are new or good (not old or bent).

Make sure that the needles are inserted with the flat side to the back and all of the way up. The left needle will be higher than the right.

Make sure that the loopers are correctly threaded and under the foot.

Place the needles in the highest position and rethread the needles.

The loopers MUST be threaded before the needles in order for it to sew.

Make sure that the threads are pulled fully down into the tensions.

SOURCE: Husqvarna 910 won't create a chain.

You may have knocked the machine out of time if the machine does not pick up stitches.

Are you sure the tension is right? You might need to push the thread hard against the track after leaving spool going into the machine (until it clicks). I had that problem also. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: Maintenance on Huskylock 910

Oiling instructions:
You never need a diagram to oil a sewing machine. Turn the hand wheel and look for every area that metal touches metal. 1-2 drops (more Is Not better) of oil everywhere metal rubs metal, use a flashlight and look and oil look and oil until every spot is oiled.

Won't form a chain stitch

You 910 serger doesn't have the option for a Chain Stitch. It is a 2, 3, or 4 thread serger. You can do a good number of different stitches but a chain stich is not one of them.

If what you mean it that it won't "chain off", meaning sew with no fabric beneath the foot as you gently pull the thread towards the rear of the machine, that could be for a number of different reasons. First, change the needles and unthread the machine and start over. If the threads are not exactly where they should be, your serger won't sew correctly. A great video on threading your machine can be seen at:http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/mediafiles/huskylock/index_en.html

I received a cd with my machine showing step by step how to thread it. I put the machine beside my computer and threaded it step by step by watching the cd. One problem I had after threading it was not being able to sew a chain without the thread matting up and making a real "mess". The problem was I did not push the thread up against the machine until it clicked. That sets the tension. Try that and if you still have a problem email me and I will try to help.
