Question about Computers & Internet

Data projector - Make and model NEC VT670 Error messages "Computer_1 no input"; "computer_2 no input". On Friday, I was getting "computer_1 no input" but it worked all right when I connected the cable to the Computer_2 port and pressed the computer_2 button. Yesterday and today it doesn't recognise the Computer_2 input either.

Hi, I've tried those suggestions - no joy. I don't think any of the settings were changed between Friday and Saturday - but could you let me know what the input settings should be?

I am trying to show a Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 presentation from a Dell Inspiron laptop - not video.

    Regards,

    Cyril

Hi, in fact it was a cable problem - though not an obvious one. When I was able to try another cable the projector worked perfectly - in time for the show. Thanks.

Most likely the Dell isn't putting out a video signal. Try connecting it to either port and then hitting FN-F4. Be patient sand wait for a minute or two. Projectors like to cyclee slowly through available inputs and if you aren't patient you can have things properly connected and still appear to not have things right.

If that doesn't work, open the display properties dialog in Windows and make sure you are sending output to the external conenctor.

If that doesn't work, try dropping the display resolution at the computer. The projector is supposed to handle up to 1600x1200 but I would still try 800x600 or even 640x480 at this point.

Make sure that the data cable connecting the data projector to your computer's video out is not bent at the sockets at both ends. If you suspect that the cable is damaged, replace it & try getting the data projector to work with the new cable.
Also, if you are projecting data from a notebook computer, make sure that you enable the video through the external video connector. This is usually done by pressing the "Fn" key + another key (usually F5 or F8, differs from notebook to another).

You should check any loose cable connections to your projector. I'd also check the signal type coming into the projector. Is it HD? Is it digital or analog? Is it from a computer? I would need you to be more specific.

I can't figure out how to replace my projector lamp for an NEC VC 670 projector. A little help please?

You need to use a phillips screwdriver to first snap off the cover on the bottom and then undo the 2 screws holding it in. The manual is here ( page 53 ): http://www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_2522.pdf

NEC VT670 - Lamp won't light. Replaced with new lamp, but gives same error. The manual says to wait a minute and then turn on the power again, but this does not work.

I have the same problem. The lamp appears OK. but she isn't coming on. It seems like a problem to start the lamp.
Did you find a solution?

Nec vt670 projector , displays "the lamp has reached the end of its usable life.please replace the lamp" the lamp and filter are fine how do i over ride this error

Typically you will need to replace the lamp. Do not try and squeeze the last hour from the lamp as there is now a chance if the lamp will shatter and scratch the mirror and lcd block rendering your projector with a permanent scratch when projected. If you already have a new lamp fittted then simply go to the menu setting, under installation or setup by memory and there is a reset option. NEC VT670 Blown Fuse

Hey SithPitt,
sorry I can't help you, but maybe you can tell me where to find the fuse. I opened the projector and have problems to find a fuse on a first view. The suspected place near ON/OFF is well shielded.
