Its probably clogged..
Remove the hose,, straghten it out so you can look into it..
Could be clogged where the hose connects inside the unit..

Wertheim vacuum cleaner 2000 does not seem to be having enough suction

If you are sure the is no leaks on suction line, please check and clean the filter. The common problem on weak suction vacuum cleaner are leaks and filter clog up.

Sucion very weak. When I take off the hose it seems to be ok but when I put it back the suction weakens. I have checked all the hose for blockages etc., but none?

I presume you have checked that the attachments are not blocked and put a new bag in? If so the hose is blocked. Take it off and run water through it to check (messy so be careful). Better if you can do it outside with a hose .
Don't put it back on the vac until you've swung it round a few times to clear all the water (don't hit anything do it outside in the road!!!) and left it to dry.

My 4 yr old Nilfisk vacuum cleaner has been working fine up until now. But suddenly, it has hardly any suction power and also, hot air seems to be coming out thru the vents on top and also thru the space...

Hi there SmartAlec from Nelsonvacuums.com.au here.It sounds like a blockage of some kind. The best way to find it is to set the machine up for normal vacuuming and remove one component at a time until the suction returns. eg turn on and feel suction under floor head - not good? then remove the rod, then the hose.
Once at the machine on its own it gets a little triky as i don't know which model you have. However if you have a bagged model remove all the filters and the bag and retest. There will be at least 2 filters, one before the motor and one after (maybe under the vacuum or right at the back). If it is a bagless model even though the filter may look clean it is probably blocked with very fine dust. If suction returns when the filter is removed then you need to buy a new filter. I am a nilfisk vacuum cleaner agent so i can supply a filter for you.
If this still doesnt help you are welcome to call me if you live in australia my contact details are on my website www.nelsonvacuums.com.au.
Hope this helps !.
Happy vacuuming :)

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. The part for your nilfisk x300 is called an accessory lid lock part number 1470184500. I am a nilfisk dealer so i can help you in getting this part. I think it is about $12. I will list it for you on my website NelsonVacuums.com.au or send me an email and i can organise an over the phone transaction. Hope this helps.

Machine turns on, has little suction, then stops working.

It would be helpful to know what model of vacuum cleaner you're talking about. Basically though, your machine has a blockage somewhere (hence very low suction), and is cutting out after just a few minutes because of overheating.  You need to explore the suction hose (or whatever your machine has), find the blockage and remove it. Blockages almost always happen where the pipe-work takes a sharp bend.  In the worst-case scenario (although in almost all modern machines this is not possible) the blockage may be in the vacuum fan enclosure itself, and then you'll probably need a professional to take care of it.

My filters? need cleaning

most likely the hose is blocked, drop a coin down it to confirm. You are best to replace the filters, they are not very expensive; though they are not likely to be the cause of your nilfisk over heating
