My Oreck Upright has started spitting out what I want it to suck up. I'm going to try replacing the belt, but someone suggested it is the start of a bigger problem - motor burnout?
How do I replace the belt?  Brush?

my oreck blows out stuff instead of sucking up stuff. this happened after vacuuming a shag carpet

That the bottom plate off, check for a clog in the inlet. If clear, then you probably have a clog in the handle tube. You will have to take the handle loose to clean it out. It may also need a new belt if you haven't changed it for a while, they stretch.
