I have a cast iron portable twin gas ring burner that is not functioning very well. I aim looking for instruction on how to diagnose problem solve and then put right this challenge. Please help

Without knowing the brand of grill you have and the model number, it's impossible to provide you with an Owners Manual. However, most burner problems are related to a need for cleaning and/or the gas regulator may be partially locked up. In which case, turning the tank valve OFF, disconnecting the hose from the tank and waiting 5 minutes before reconnecting, will generally solve the problem. But, only if you turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow).

If after you have completed the above and you're still having problems and need an Owner's Manual, please furnish the Brand & Model Number. Thanks.....

The first burner seems to burn very low and not very hot

Hello,
If it was me, I would, first try to clean them and see if that improves the flames. During the course of cleaning you can determine if the burners are corroded and needing replacement or just caked up and dirty. Are the burners stainless steel or cast iron? Cast iron lasts longer, and tends to get smaller in flames when it's seams corrode shut. Plus it is easier to clean. Stainless steel tends to corrode and fall apart, causing flare ups and unsafe use. I have a Viking Grill model VGBQ530 with cast iron burners that need replacement. I cannot find the exact model no. with these replacement burners however it appears that Viking now have a replacement made...

That is correct. Viking no longer supports the Cast Iron Burners. There is an aftermarket Burner VIKU1 that comes with mounting brackets to convert older Viking Grills that used a Cast Iron Burner to be able to switch to the stainless steel burner. The large bracket attaches to the center tube and has two screw holes and screws for mounting to the rear of the housing. The two smaller brackets mount to the two holes at the rear wall of the housing and create a ledge for the end of the two tubes to rest on.

My burners don't put out out much of a flame. Model CGBD48RSBX. Ten years old. Can I clean them?

That depends, Are the burners stainless steel or cast iron? The cast iron burners are heavy duty and can usually be cleaned, but the stainless kind may just fall apart after a few years of usage. It just may have clogged burner holes from rust and drippings that can simply be wire brushed. I'd use an air compressor to blow out debris from inside the burner as well.

How do I attach the hose to the cast iron burner,do I just thread the brass fitting to the cast iron burner or is there something missing

Hello. Yes, the brass fitting goes on to the burner. At the other end of the hose is the valve and the larger connector for the propane tank. Enjoy your turkey! Regards, Joe

no manual needed, to much preassure means the preassure regulator is shot(the round thing on the supply line). not enough flame is usually a corroded burner

H Burner replacement

There are aftermarket cast iron burners available for approx $64.95. Otherwise, the OEM burner is a Dynachrome which is a chrome plated cast iron that is almost $300. I do not believe that the cast stainless is still available.
