Question about Electrical Supplies

1 Answer

I need a fuse block (it's the part that holds the fuse and is inserted into the fuse box). This fuse block holds 2-50 amp fuses and is mounted to the electrical pole outside of my house. Then the electricity runs into the house through a breaker box. These were used 30 to 40 years ago when power poles were put up for mobile homes.

How do i drop the fuse box to replace the bcm

Unscrew the two bottom plastic covers. With a 1/4 ratchet and 5/16 socket remove three black screws holding the fuse panel to it's mounting bracket. one screw is on the left side and two screws are on the right side all facing toward the driver. Unplug the two large wire connectors from the bottom of the BCM. You still cannot remopve the the fuse block but you don't need to. Next remove two screws on the right side of the fuse block with your small ratchet. You will need to have about a eight inch extension to remove the one screw that is located on the top of the left side of the fuse box. I used a mirrow to guide the socket straight up along side the fuse box and was able to remove the screw. It really was not a hard thing to do. When the three screws are removed, the BCM will slide down and seperate from the fuse box. Reverese the procedure the reinstall. Good Luck

Can someone tell me where to find the fuse box on a 1985 honda shadow 500.> Thanks. email me >

Your fuse box is located on the handle bars under the black "HONDA" plate. You will break it off if you just grab it and pull. It is held on by two screws that face the fuel tank.If you have a very short phillips insert from a screw driver and a small box end wrench you can some times safely take the screws out with out removing the fuel tank. That technique works on the CX650 hopefully it will work on the VT500. Otherwise you will have to take off the seat and the tank. This will get much easier access to the fuse block cover mounting screws. The guy that designed that pretty piece of plastic did not do any of the owners a favor. Be careful not to break it for you may not be able to get a replacement from Honda.

I cannot remove the 100 Amp fuse to replace it. How do you get it out of the fuse box?

The fuse link is bolted in from the two side in the have to un bolt the whole fusebox so you can raise it and if you look at the sides there are two side panels that can be moved down so you can get a socket or spanner on the two bolts apprx 10mm. undo them and raise the fuse out and put the new one in and tighten up the bolts again.

Were do i locate my feus box

There are two fuse boxes

1. Passenger compartment

The Passenger compartment fuse block access door

is on the driver's side edge

of the instrument panel. Pull

off the cover to access the

fuse block.

You can remove fuses with

a fuse extractor. The fuse

extractor is mounted to the
fuse block access door
2.Underhood Fuse and Relay center

The underhood fusehelay center is located in the rear of

the engine compartment near the brake fluid reservoir.

Move the retainer clips for the cover to access the

fuse block.

You can remove fuses with a fuse extractor. The fuse

extractor is mounted to the interior fuse block. To

remove fuses if you don't have a fuseex tractor, hold the

end of the fuse between your thumb and index finger
and pull straight out.

My 2002 galant fuse box has melted where the ac fuse goes can it be fixed without replacing the fuse box?

Hello stanford8
A new or used fuse block is the recommended way to go. But in a
pinch, remove the fuse box mounting screws and pull it back to make
sure no other wires got melted or damaged. Cut the power out a/c wire
from the box. I should have said this first, pick up an inline fuse+holder
with the correct amp rating. connect one end to the 12v pwr in connection to the fuse block and the other end to the a/c power out wire
This will bypass the fuse block for the a/c only. The fuse holders are
available at any parts store. Also it would be wise to locate and repair
the cause of the meltdown first, if you havn't already done so.
Hope this helps.

I need to know if i need a new headlight switch or if i need a fuse replaced, but i need a diagram of the fuse panel.

The fuse block on all models is located under the left hand side of the instrument panel. All flashers are mounted on the fuse block. Each fuse is marked on the fuse block as to which circuit it is protecting. Some early models also use an in-line 30 amp, fuse for the air conditioning hi-blower, located at the cowl relay and an in-line 10 amp, fuse for power antennas.

Check this diagrams...

If the clock is the only defective module, I have removal instructions and a repair service. Check out
